BTN is an aggressive reg with a wide opening range. Do we like to db, x/c or x/r?

I think I would check/call with this hand, but I wonder what hands we are leading with on this flop. This might be one. Maybe fold some weak flush draws and maybe some bigger gut shots, I don't know. Maybe holding a 9 or a bigger flush blocker?

@David E i would favor a lead on blank turns just to deny some of villains equity.
Getting squeezed with aces.
Is there any merit to flatting in this spot vs a good reg to keep in the very loose player on the button? I know that it is a standard 4-bet in theory, but pushing out the lag in order to flip against the pro doesn't seem like a great play.

I don't think you can ever flat because sometimes you can win the pot without seeing a flop, and maybe the weaker player calls and the reg folds. Not to mention lower the spr will make playing out of position a little easier.
Climbing Stakes & Strengthening the Mental Game 🧠🔥
Hey everyone, I’ve been grinding mostly on private clubs, playing 5-card PLO. Over the last months I’ve been doing well at the 2-4 and 3-6 stakes. At those levels, the games felt pretty straightforward, players were folding a lot, playing face-up, and it was easier to navigate. But moving up has been a whole different story… - Players fold less, both the whales and the regs. - Variance feels much higher since people get to realize their equity more often. - Honestly, I feel like my play has slipped a bit, partly from the swings, partly from adapting to new player types. I know that climbing in stakes is as much a mental challenge as a technical one. That’s why I wanted to ask the community here: 👉 What are your best mental game tips for handling the swings and pressure of moving up?👉 How do you stay sharp and confident when variance starts messing with your mindset? I’d love to hear what’s worked for you, whether it’s routines, study habits, mindset shifts, or even practical bankroll adjustments. Thanks in advance for the wisdom! 🙏 Looking forward to learning from you all and continuing to push up the ladder together.

I think the easiest mindset advice I can give is to just accept that the swings are part of the game, and knowing that is what you signed up for. Don't forget the swing moves in both directions.
Does anyone ever fold this river?

I was trying to find a way to fold, but I'm thinking the villain is going to shove with all flushes on the river. So you have to call, and this time it was a loss, but the next 10 will be wins.

I don't think I'll call the flop. I believe there is not enough equity to make the call, but I'm not confident. I believe it's pretty much a call only to bluff on later streets.
