HMRC scam
This morning I felt my heart in my mouth and panic all over when I saw this email. Checking the ‘HMRC’ email address details exposed it to be from an outlook account and so clearly a scam email. Thought I’d share to raise awareness; stay safe folks!

SLAM! May 2026 - postponed
After much deliberation, Jamie and I have decided to postpone SLAM! as we shift our focus toward something bigger. Over the past few months, demand for our online offering has grown significantly, and we've decided to lean into that fully - investing our energy into building a truly first-class digital experience for our community. The two speakers we had lined up for Sunday won't be going anywhere - they'll both be featured here soon, so if you're a Premium or VIP subscriber, you'll still get everything we planned for and more. When SLAM! returns in the Summer, it will be bigger, better, and part of a much more exciting chapter for us. Stay close - the best is very much ahead.

Worcester Extension
A simple extension scheme we are building in Worcester. As a guide, it’s about 20sq.m, will be a bedroom with an en-suite bedroom with a window, external door and a flat (warm) roof. Budget £47K to build. Keep you posted with progress.

A £47k budget for a well-designed 20m² bedroom extension with an en-suite and warm roof seems realistic in today's market. Looking forward to seeing the project take shape. @Jamie Barnett
Renters’ Rights Act Information Sheet 2026
Landlords: make sure you’ve shared the required Renters’ Rights Act Information Sheet 2026 with your tenants before 31 May 2026. Providing this document is now a legal obligation, and missing the deadline could result in fines of up to £7,000 per property. Smaller landlords may be more at risk of overlooking this requirement, so it’s worth double-checking your compliance now. If you haven’t already sent it, you can access the official PDF here:https://lnkd.in/ev6sRKbr Staying on top of these updates is key - not just to avoid penalties, but to ensure your tenancy agreements remain fully compliant with current regulations.

Tenants and pets!
To dog or not to dog? 🐶 New tenant, new dog, day 1 and the complaints have already started. What would be a reasonable time for neighbours to allow a dog to settle? Feels like a real divide between dog lovers (who say give it time) and non-dog people (who are already over it). Feeling like curling up in a basket myself 😝

A little patience seems reasonable. A new home is a huge adjustment for a dog, and it's not unusual for a few days of barking or anxiety while they settle. That said, the owner also has a responsibility to manage the behaviour quickly so neighbours aren't left dealing with ongoing disruption. Hopefully, a bit of understanding on both sides will make for happier humans and dogs alike. 🐶. @Nicki Stumpf
