870 prospects, 24 opportunities, $120K potential pipeline.
Just finished reviewing one of our recent cold email campaigns. 870 prospects → 24 opportunities → $120K potential pipeline. What I like about this campaign is that we didn’t rely on sending a crazy amount of emails. We focused on the basics: - Good targeting - Clean lead data - Proper inbox setup - Deliverability - Relevant copy - Follow-ups - Constant optimization The biggest mistake I see is people trying to scale before they know what’s working. If the foundation is weak, adding more volume won’t fix it. Get the setup right. Get the targeting right. Get the messaging right. Then scale. There are no conversions recorded yet, so the $120K is potential pipeline, not revenue. Still, 24 opportunities from 870 prospects gives us a strong base to work with. Now the job is simple: keep optimizing and turn those opportunities into customers.

@George Williams Thanks! As a cold emailer, I keep the copy short, personalized, and focused on the prospect’s specific pain point. The offer depends on the ICP, but the main goal is to start a relevant conversation rather than push for a sale immediately.

@Jay Feldman list quality was the biggest lever. if the ICP and data are right, the copy and follow-up sequence become much easier to optimize. We focused heavily on targeting first, then refined the messaging based on the responses.
694 prospects. 17 opportunities. $85,000 in pipeline.
694 prospects. 17 opportunities. $85,000 in pipeline. No gimmicks. No "AI magic." No sending thousands of emails a day. Just a solid cold email infrastructure, clean data, and consistent optimization. Campaign stats: • 694 prospects entered the sequence • 17 qualified opportunities generated • $85,000 sales pipeline created This is why cold email is still one of the highest ROI outbound channels when done correctly. Success doesn't come from sending more emails. It comes from: • Proper inbox setup • Strong deliverability • Verified lead lists • Personalized copy • Continuous testing and optimization Most campaigns fail because they ignore the fundamentals. Build the infrastructure first. Scale second. What has been your biggest challenge with cold email lately?

@Gaspard Visseaux Thanks! It usually depends on the offer and ICP, but we typically aim for around a 25–35% meeting booking rate from positive replies and a 20–30% close rate from booked meetings. The key is having a strong sales process after the meeting, not just generating replies.

@Gaspard Visseaux We send a pretty high volume of emails since we manage campaigns for multiple clients. Daily volume varies depending on each client’s project, ICP, and campaign size.

28 OOO replies is higher than I'd normally expect, but I don't think that's the real issue here. What would concern me more is 0 positive replies from ~2,000 sends. That usually points to one (or more) of these: - The ICP isn't a good fit. - The offer isn't compelling enough. - The copy isn't creating enough curiosity or relevance. OOO replies simply tell you the emails are reaching inboxes. I'd spend less time worrying about those and more time reviewing the list quality, segmentation, and messaging. Out of curiosity: - What's your ICP? - What's the offer? - Where did you source the leads from? - How many inboxes are you using, and what's the daily sending volume per inbox?

How bounce rate silently kills your campaigns
How bounce rate silently kills your campaigns Your emails aren’t being ignored. They’re not even being delivered. Hard bounces = permanent failure Invalid email. Dead inbox. Non-existent domain. Every hard bounce sends a negative signal to Google & Microsoft. Too many → you look like a spammer. What actually happens next: • Inbox placement drops • Spam rate increases • Domain reputation gets damaged • Scaling becomes impossible Even good campaigns fail here. Keep bounce rate under 2% Anything higher = you’re burning your infrastructure. Better data > better copy Always verify your lead
