Photos of you climbing gym!!
I’d love to see photos of some of your climbing gyms!! I’ve been traveling a bunch over the last 6 months so I don’t really have a “home” gym right now, but this is the one that I climbed the most at over the last year, grand river rocks in Kitchener Ontario. If you have pictures of your feel free to share them in the comments! Always like seeing different ones!

I have two home gyms. One gym I go to for the vibe and the route setting, the other is for height. I frequent this one the most because it’s helped with my endurance.
Climbing Friends / Partners!
How did you find you climbing friends or partners? I get asked this question all the time. I met a lot at the gym, convinced friends and family to come with me and dragged any existing friends in as well haha. How did ya'll meet your climbing homies?

Climb with a childhood friend. Other than that been finding it difficult to find people to climb with the same stoke and want to go as often. At least ones you can trust on belay.
This is my advice to all new climbers/ all who will profit from this.
So there is this skill that I've been using and developing over the three years that I have been climbing and only recently realized what it was and how impactful it has been to my progress as a climber. The skill I talk about isn't footwork or hip control. My favorite skill that has carried me to where I am is self awareness. I have recently found that not everybody does this to the extent that I do, I know that most of you at least think about what you're doing on the wall and you have some understanding of what you feel like during certain movements or positions. The way that I think about it goes past that, less the uncomfortable places, more on why they're uncomfortable, not "Why did I fall?" but "What can I do to make that move that felt like this better?" I don't know about you guys but when I'm on the wall, I'm constantly aware of every part of my body and how it feels, how they move and the amounts of pressure on them. Universal knowledge of your body. Apply it and adapt based on what you feel. That is how you improve exponentially. Hope this helps anybody who feels stuck. I like this. This is a good perspective. I do this intermittently on the wall, but I’ve also brought myself to the point of overthinking every little thing. How do you stop yourself from overthinking and not sacrificing efficiency ?

@Caleb Williams ah that makes sense. I tend to zone out when I’m up there and it’s when I climb best. I’ll definitely try to use this next time.
Do you stretch before/after climbing?
If you do, what does that look like? If you don’t, why not? This is my stretching routine right now. I modify it every once in a while, and I program it into the app Bend so it does all the timing for me when I’m at the gym. I do each stretch for 30 seconds, and I try to do it with an intensity of a 6-7 out of 10, (not painful, but intense!) It takes 17 minutes as part of my warm up, leaves me feeling loose, and I’ve seen huge mobility gains.

Some days don’t feel like stretching , but my hip flexors tend to regret it. 😂 I do some of these stretches but prefer dynamic ones. Lattice has a great video I used to guide my warmups.
