@Reinette Steyn I'm in the same boat as you ... would love to see more traction but I still believe that showing up every day, whether it is learning, creating content or implementing skills as per the classroom, every action counts

@Joan von Metzinger takes one back to one's WHY ... i wrote a blog - more to remind myself to keep going ... clarity comes sometimes by seeing it in black and white ... thanks for the reminder that everyone started somewhere.... and we are in this together!
Mindset Matters
Today, thousands of runners are taking part in the Comrades Marathon. What inspires me most isn't just the winners. It's the ordinary people who made a commitment months ago and kept showing up. They trained when they felt motivated. They trained when they didn't. They took one step, then another, then another. And that's a lesson that applies far beyond running. Whether you're learning a new skill, starting an online journey, changing careers, or simply trying to improve your life, success rarely comes from one big moment. It comes from consistent effort over time. The people who reach their goals aren't always the fastest or the most talented. Often, they're the ones who kept going when things felt difficult. The ones who remembered why they started. The ones who understood that progress is built one step at a time. So wherever you are on your journey today, don't focus on how far you still have to go. Focus on the next step. Because endurance, consistency, and purpose will take you further than motivation ever can. Have a wonderful Sunday. 🌱

You are absolutely correct. I am so guilty of finding reasons of 'why both not now but I will soon'. Just walk it - Now! For the first time in ages I have the time to just sit ...the busy of a career parked, for a moment! I have 3 people running the Comrades today - all 3 are equally busy, same as me - they picked one thing to do and they are doing it. One step at a time! How awesome, how inspirational! I have also picked my journey, - 2 years to retirement - 2 years to create a solid income stream ... one step at a time!. They can do it, I can do it. We can do it! How blessed we are!
The Story I Had to Rewrite
This post, "BE CAREFUL OF THE STORY YOU TELL YOURSELF..." really hits home for me, and this is my story. Not long ago, I found myself living a story I never expected to be part of. Like many people, I followed the path that society tells us is the right one. Study hard. Earn qualifications. Work diligently. Build experience. Climb the ladder. Secure your future. For years, I invested my time, energy, and resources into building a career. I believed that the more qualifications I earned and the more experience I gained, the more secure my future would be. After dedicating many years to one company, I was retrenched due to operational changes and economic pressures. It came as a shock. I had always worked hard, been independent, and believed that experience, commitment, and qualifications would provide security. Suddenly, everything changed. What struck me most was how quickly circumstances can change, regardless of how qualified or experienced you are. In the corporate world, many of us become accustomed to being told where to be, what to do, how to do it, and when to do it. We work within structures and systems, often believing that if we do everything right, we can control the outcome. But sometimes the decision is made for you. In my case, I wasn't given a choice. The direction of my life changed overnight, and there was nothing I could do to prevent it. For a while, I felt as though all those years of study, sacrifice, qualifications, and effort had somehow been wasted. I questioned everything I thought I knew about success and security. Then began the search for another position. Hundreds of applications. Hope followed by disappointment. A handful of interviews. Then the responses started coming. "You're overqualified." "We're looking for someone younger." "We can't meet your salary expectations." And sometimes, no response at all. With every rejection, my confidence took another knock. For the first time in my life, I started questioning my value. I wondered if all the years of experience, qualifications, and hard work had somehow become irrelevant. I worried that I might become dependent on my children when I had always been fiercely independent.

The story(s) we tell ourselves ... and the mindset and bravery to embrace a new journey. The 'society story' and the skills we learn there is not a waste of time but where we go wrong is thinking it is the only story. I am there, have the t-shirt, working on the exit plan: FJ. Is it easy? Nope, especially mentally. Is it worth it? For sure Does it ask endurance? More than ever! But it's my journey, my story, To quote a song ... 'i believe I can fly ....' And I'm not flying solo
Mindset Change
My 9 to 5 is hectic to the point where I have very little 'me' time, time to reflect and time to dream. Mindset change: in spite this insanity of being swallowed up everyday, I am still in control of where I focus my energy. I will live a different life, the time will come ...I will continue to pitch up ... I choose a different outcome

I've been locked out of FB before (few years ago) and it's not fun and could take quite some time to be unlocked. Best to take these rules seriously
