THIS CHANGED MY BASKETBALL CAREER...
📝 The PDP That Changed My Basketball Career I always worked hard. I trained. I lifted. I played. I wanted to get better. But after my sophmore college season I knew I needed to make a big jump & my coach let me know how important that offseason needed to be for me. So I did something different: I created a Player Development Plan (PDP). Instead of just saying, “I'm going to work hard this summer,” I actually created a roadmap for where I wanted to go. I wrote down: 🎯 My goals — What specifically did I need to improve & what I wanted? 🏀 My development priorities — What parts of my game were keeping me from the next level? 📅 My schedule — When was I going to train, lift, condition and play around shool/work? ⏰ My time management — How was I going to organize my days so the work actually got done? 📈 My progress & accountability — Was I actually doing what I said I was going to do & tracking? 🗺️ My roadmap — Instead of randomly training, I knew where I was going and what I needed to do next. The results were dramatic. The following season, I became an All-Conference player and College All-American selection. Looking back I actually think that off season was when I became a professional basketball player. I ended up being the first player from my college to ever sign a pro basketball contract. I played in 6 countries before focusing on basketball ministry & training with Hoops for Christ. Did the PDP magically make me better? No. But it was the game changer. It gave all my HARD WORK direction. That's the difference. A lot of players work hard. A lot of players go to workouts. A lot of players say: "I want to be a starter on my team or play college basketball." "I want to start." "I want to make varsity." "I want to become a better point guard." But there's a massive difference between having a DREAM and having a PLAN. Did you know that less than 1% of people actually take the time write down their goals & look at them? By creating your PDP with me you'll already be in the top 1% & that is way more important for life than just basketball !!!

I am working on not just being fast but to slow down during the game to make good game time decisions. (This community app is so helpful😁)
HOW TO SEPARATE YOURSELF IN THE PRESEASON - Community Call, 8/21 Friday
Your reputation is being built RIGHT NOW. The season doesn’t start at tryouts or the first game. Especially for point guards & leaders. For most student/athletes school years are starting right now so its a fresh start & I want you to make the most of it. Lock into our Community Call, 8/21, Fri. 12pm EST. Coaches are already noticing who is prepared, who brings energy, who connects with teammates, and who they can trust. Here are 4 ways to separate yourself before the season begins: 1️⃣ CREATE A PLAN + GET IN SHAPE Don’t just “work out.” Have a plan for what you need to improve and attack it consistently. This is why I talk about a PDP, player development plan, so often. Get yourself in great basketball shape so conditioning isn’t the reason you can’t show coaches what you can do. Great players and leaders have to lead by example. 2️⃣ BUILD RELATIONSHIPS EARLY Talk to your coaches. Get to know your teammates. Encourage people. Ask questions. Great point guards don’t wait until the season starts to lead. I have learned that building relationships are the foundation to any great team chemistry or leadership. 3️⃣ BRING THE MOST ENERGY You may not always be the best player in the gym, but you can control your energy. Talk on defense. Sprint between drills. Clap & make the enviroment positive. Celebrate teammates. Be engaged when coaches speak. Become the player who raises the energy of the entire gym & you will always be valuable. 4️⃣ MAKE SURE YOUR COACH REMEMBERS YOUR NAME So simple, so important. Not by showing off but by becoming impossible to ignore for the right reasons. Compete. Communicate. Hustle. Ask good questions. Be coachable. Show up consistently. Your goal isn’t just to make the team. The goal is to lead a team. Become the player your coach already knows they can trust before the season even starts. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 🎥 LIVE COMMUNITY CALL — FRIDAY 8/21 @ 1:15pm EST Tomorrow we’re going deeper into “How to Separate Yourself in the Preseason.”

👋 Welcome to Point Guard Transformation! Start Here
First, thank you for joining! I'm Coach Phillip Morrison — former College All-American & professional point guard, and many of you may know me as Basketball Missionary. My goal with this community is simple: 🏀 Help you handle pressure, play fearless & become the player your coach TRUSTS. We're going to develop more than basketball skills. We're going to work on your confidence, decision-making, basketball IQ, leadership, identity and ability to become a true floor general. But don't get overwhelmed by everything inside the community. 🚀 START WITH THESE 3 THINGS: 1️⃣ INTRODUCE YOURSELF + YOUR GOAL 👋 Introduce yourself in the comments below OR create your own post. Tell us: 🏀 Your name + grade (if player) 📍 Where you're from 🐐 Favorite point guard (Mine is Steve Nash!) 🎯 Your #1 goal over the next 90 days Parents and coaches — introduce yourself too if you're here to learn Encourage other players. Ask questions. Share wins. Let us know when you're struggling. 2️⃣ START THE POINT GUARD TRANSFORMATION 🏀 Go to the Classroom and begin: MONTH 1: HANDLING DEFENSIVE PRESSURE This is where I want EVERY new player to start. We're going to help you become more confident when defenders: 🔥 Pick you up full court 🔥 Crowd or Trap you 🔥 Speed you up 🔥 Get physical 🔥 Force you into uncomfortable situations The goal isn't simply to improve your handle. It's to learn how to HANDLE PRESSURE. We'll combine skill development, confidence, pace, decision-making and game understanding so you can stop panicking and start playing with control. Start with Lesson 1 and follow the program in order. 3️⃣ CHECK THE CALENDAR & UPCOMING LIVE CALLS OR REPLAYS 📅 Go to the Calendar tab and see what's coming up. You'll find: 🎥 Live Community Calls 🧠 Confidence & Leadership Workshops 🎬 Masterclasses & Film Breakdowns 🏀 Point Guard Classroom Sessions 🎤 Special Guests + Q&A Come LIVE whenever possible. Watch the Replays if you miss. Ask questions. Participate. Let me coach you. If you can't make a call, we'll have replays available inside the Classroom.
