Difference between High School vs College Basketball - Community Call 8/14, 11am EST
The transition from high school basketball to College basketball was tough! I went from high school ball for one of the top programs in Kentucky to an NAIA college near Chicago. I think I was physically and mentally prepared but that transition is hard for any 18/19 yr old player. Going from HS to D1 I know is insane, I didn't do that but many of my close friends did and man the stories they told me were crazy. College basketball becomes a job. If you're a high school player with dreams of playing at the next level, here are 5 things you need to start preparing for NOW: 1️⃣ YOUR BODY HAS TO CHANGE 💪 Everybody was good in high school. Now you're competing against 20–23-year-old grown men and women who have spent YEARS in a college strength program. Players are stronger. Faster. More physical. That bump that knocked you off your drive in high school? It's coming harder in college. Start developing your body BEFORE you get there. 2️⃣ NOBODY IS GOING TO BABYSIT YOU 🧠 This might be the biggest shock. Mom and Dad aren't there every morning. Your high school coach isn't reminding you about everything. You have freedom—but freedom exposes your discipline. Can you wake yourself up? Can you eat correctly? Can you get extra shots up when nobody tells you to? Can you stay out of trouble? Can you handle being homesick, struggling, sitting on the bench or having a coach get after you? College exposes your habits very quickly. 3️⃣ YOU HAVE TO HANDLE SCHOOL 📚 You're not just a basketball player. You're a college student. Classes. Papers. Exams. Study hall. Travel. Practices. Film. Lifting. And nobody is sitting beside you every night making sure your homework gets done. If you develop terrible academic habits in high school, basketball isn't magically going to fix them in college. Learn how to be a student NOW. 4️⃣ LEARN TO CONTROL YOUR SCHEDULE ⏰ This was a huge adjustment. You might have: 6:00 AM lift, Classes, Lunch, Study hall, Film/Skill work, Practice, Treatment, Dinner, Homework

Join us for weekly live calls, check the "calendar" tab to see the date/times. I'll do Q&A sessions to close if you're on live. Appreciate you guys! Live Call Replay - How to Slow Down & Dribble vs Quick Defenders
Looking forward to the process.
I’m an assistant HS coach and we have a young team this year. Returning 2 seniors and 4 juniors that will probably get rotation minutes. Looking to develop a freshman and sophomore to become our lead guards for the next few years.

Love it! Thanks for joining coach
My Question
My question is what drills can I do to improve my three point shot (I hope I put this in the right spot)

Start with form shooting, 5 feet, 10 feet, 15 feet before you get to 3point line. You always start close to get your mechanics, form & rhythm. Next keep it simple with your spot shooting. Pick a spot & keep the same foot work into every shot (1-2 step or hop step). Just stay consistent and make 5-10 3pt shots before you move to a new spot
