I was consistent most of last year but life hit hard in the fall and ghosted through the holidays and didn’t send one until about a week ago. Hoping I can get that flow going again.
Hi everyone! I’m Ellen 👋
I run Engaging Reluctant Readers, where I support moms who feel stuck in nightly reading battles with their kids. I’m a former reluctant reader myself, so a lot of what I teach comes from both personal experience and what I’m seeing with families now. Right now, I’m focused on my podcast, creating low-ticket digital resources, and starting to build out tutoring support for struggling readers starting with a virtual summer reading camp. I’d really love more clarity on how to grow my reach beyond my current audience—especially in a way that doesn’t require me to be everywhere all the time. Sustainably is key and I need it to work for my introverted-self, I’d rather see slower growth than risk burnout in the process. So glad to be here! I can’t wait to get to know all of you better 🤩

@Rachel Eglinton thank you! I agree with this completely! Especially that confidence piece. It’s funny when I first started my business my boys were completely book obsessed so I was 100% basing everything on my own personal experience and the fact that my boys were loving books based on everything I was doing then about 3 years ago my oldest hit a rough patch and I found myself right there in my clients shoes. Thankfully we turned things around pretty quickly but it was a key reminder that loving books isn’t a guarantee and that need to change things up and engage in different ways is critical. I just keep learning from all the families I work with including my own 😉 Side note: I find it interesting how many current/former teachers I find in the entrepreneurial space regardless of their chosen niche.

@Kylie Kelly love this! A podcast tour is on my list of things to do this year along with other collaborations. It’s that aligned audience piece that’s tricky for me since mine is so niched. Do you have recommendations for finding collaboration opportunities? I’m excited to search Skool for other communities, seems a lot easier to find here than on FB or IG.
Quick Skool tip to save your sanity 🔕
If you’re in multiple Skool communities, notifications can get overwhelming fast. This little tweak takes about 2 minutes and makes the whole experience way calmer. In the Loom below I show you how to: - reorder your communities so the ones you use most are at the top - turn off like notifications (this alone cuts down a ton) - change your email alerts to digest or none - adjust notifications inside each community - turn off chat notifications if a group is blowing up your DMs I always want this community to feel easy and enjoyable to be part of - not like another place your phone is buzzing all day. Take two minutes, tweak your settings, and make Skool work for you. And if you have your own favourite Skool tip, drop it below 👇 I'd love to hear it!!

@Kylie Kelly huge difference, I was getting ready to throw my phone across the room if it kept buzzing. Don’t get me wrong I love active communities but I don’t need the constant reminder 🤪
🎉🎉🎉 START HERE: Welcome New Members - I’m so glad you’re here!
You've just joined a calm space for women building sustainable online businesses - without relying on social media to be visible, grow, or sell. You don’t need to show up everyday. You don’t need to perform. And you don’t need to have everything figured out before you join in. This community is designed to meet you where you are. HOW THIS SPACE WORKS: This isn’t a noisy group or a content dump. Instead, you’ll find: - Thoughtful conversations - Resources that unlock as you participate - A focus on email, collaborations, and relationship-led visibility - Space to grow in a way that feels steady and sustainable You’re welcome to observe quietly at first - or jump straight into conversation. There’s no “right” way to be here. YOUR NEXT STEP: Watch the welcome video below and then comment "GROWTH" in the comments so I know you've seen it. Head over to Level 1 Classroom here so you know how it all works and then come back and post your introduction on the group wall, using the category "Introductions (Level 1+)" so everyone can meet you! You can keep it simple: - What kind of business you’re building - Where you’re currently focusing your energy - One thing you’d love more clarity or momentum around I’m really glad you’re here - welcome. 💫

🎉 Celebrating our community voices this week…
One of my favourite things to watch in this space is how quickly people go from “just joined” → to actually being seen. Because it isn't about one person teaching - this group isn't about me. It's about the room! All of you showing up - asking questions - sharing what's working - replying to each other. That's where real community comes from 🥰 A few gentle reminders if you want to build momentum here: ✨ Comment more than you scroll or post ✨ Ask better questions (this changes everything) ✨ Share what you’re learning as you go - not just once it’s “perfect” And something I really believe: It's not about being the loudest person in the room - it's about being someone people recognise, trust, and come back to. So if you’ve posted, commented, or supported someone this week - I see you 🤍 And if you’ve been quietly watching… this is your nudge to join in. 🎉 Congrats on the week to: @Anna Sabino @Katherine Mackenzie-Smith @Jakolien Sok @Harsimrat Kaur @Elise Hodge @Gemma Davies @Have-a Nice-Time (only joined 5 days ago!!) @Glessie Brown (only joined 9 days ago!!) @Julie Butler @Qiana Johnson ** Follow these members so you can catch more of these posts and comments.
