Hi! I'm Elizabeth from Omaha, Nebraska! I've worked in coffee for 5 years now, and it's always been a dream of mine to have my own cafe! My concept is a from-scratch cafe with homemade alternative milks, syrups, pastries, and locally roasted coffee, if not roasted in-house! I think a lot of the craft aspect has been taken out of the coffee industry here in the States, with convenience contributing to the popularity of drive-thru coffee shops. In my cafe, I would want to reconnect with the roots of a traditional cafe by delivering quality, craft, and an atmosphere that makes people want to savor and enjoy the experience. My vision also includes a jazz influence, with a cozy yet sultry vibe that allows a comfortable daytime space that can transition to a more intimate evening vibe, where we feature live performances from local artists, with staple jazz performances on weekends. I have a lot of plans and concepts but am just trying to figure out how to officially start! The thing I'm most nervous about is probably cost, funding, and profit, but I feel very optimistic after finding this course that I can really start building my dream!
