This song hit me differently this morning. “Lace Up Your Boots” feels like God reminding me that I’ve spent enough time sitting still, questioning, overthinking, and wondering if I’m really ready for what He’s calling me into.

@Tracey Johnson YES! That’s exactly what I heard in it too! The fact that it says boots instead of simply shoes really stood out to me. Boots are for the work, the rough terrain, and sometimes the battle. And it immediately took me back to “Stomp” by Kirk Franklin and my youth group days. Our youth group had a whole battle theme around it—although for the life of me, I cannot remember the actual name of the theme right now! 😂 That whole idea of being prepared, standing your ground, and going into battle for the Kingdom came rushing back to me. And what you said about the backpack really hit home for me. The assignment may take a while, so pack what you need. Whew! Because I was sitting in the corner thinking, “When is it going to be my turn?” 🤦🏾‍♀️😂 Whole time, I’m realizing now… all I had to do was say YES. God wasn’t necessarily keeping me in the corner. He was preparing me, and I was waiting for some big moment when He was waiting on my obedience. Now I hear, “Lace up your boots. Pack your bag. It’s time to ride.” And I’m like… okay Lord. 😂 I’m ready.

My takeaway is that we need to remember what we do is unto God and that’s where we find our joy

Resurrection Sunday is joy and hope. When things and people die we are told it’s the end BUT GOD said it is not then end! And that just gets me so excited 😆
