Before you panic and start repotting every container… Try this first: • Gently loosen the top layer with a chopstick, fork, or wooden skewer. • Add a small amount of fresh, airy potting mix to the top. • Check that drainage holes are not blocked. • Occasionally bottom water to encourage deeper root growth. • If severely compacted, then consider repotting. You don’t have to tear everything apart at the first sign of trouble. Small adjustments can restore airflow and improve drainage quickly. 🌱 𝐖𝐫𝐚𝐩-𝐔𝐩 𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 This week we learned: • Soil should be gently firm not packed tight. • Drainage depends on structure, not just holes. • Roots need oxygen. • Compaction is common and fixable.
