@Toby Sam Harris thank you! I have definitely found it helpful! I’ve always loved the connection between the body and mind so being able to know what’s going on from a psychological perspective has helped when it comes to treating and knowing what’s going to suit that person in that moment- a lot of my treatment planning comes from the biopsychosocial model - understanding how these 3 components can be contributing to what someone presents with. For example I have a single stay at home mum of 2 children on the spectrum she’s got a lot going on that can be mentally challenging and fatiguing, she carries a lot of stress and is always just doing thr best for her family. When I first saw her I recognised her nervous system was just on alert she was in a lot of upper body aches and pains, from this I explained it all to her and suggested that for that session going in with an “aggressive” treatment style may not be appropriate or effective at that time, in which i simplified it and still addressing her pain points but in a way that would down regulate her nervous system and allow her to relax. She absolutely loved it and came in the following fortnight feeling less tension, better mental clarity and overall able to complete day to day tasks just that extra bit better than before !! I’m yet to work with athletes but this sort of approach would be super helpful especially when they may have an injury and need to see the light at the end of the tunnel of it all ☺️☺️☺️
Osteoporosis
Hey all! What’s everyone’s experience with clients who have osteoporosis and getting them exercising ? Any particular exercises you prescribe ? Sets/ reps ? Things to be mindful of? And any knowledge of PRP being beneficial or not as well (for osteoporosis) Any sort of advice and clinical experience is appreciated!! 🙏🏽🙏🏽

WEEK 1 OFFICIAL CASE STUDY:
Welcome to the FIRST case study in Case study corner! This week, I have a case study that might just bring you to your KNEES! CASE STUDY: Tim is a 27-year-old semi-professional soccer player. One week ago, during soccer training, Tim felt pain in his left knee after kicking the ball. Tim was able to keep playing. He reports that the pain has been increasing in intensity over the last few days especially with activities that require full weightbearing and/ or full knee flexion. WHAT WOULD YOU DO NEXT?

@Rulan Albarouki I definitely will!! Initially thinking some sort of ligament issue like ACL and thinking along the lines of what everyone else has mentioned such us if pain is superficial or deep but now that more info has been provided and you said to think what attached to the medial knee the cogs are doing some more thinking! Potential MCL but also nil to orthos and because of the pain on knee flexion there’s also hamstrings to consider ?? My mind is going down a rabbit hole hahahahhaah keen to find out more about this !!!
