I’ve been building my Arch Linux setup too — not finished yet, still working through some drivers and configurations, but will be there.
Learn Linux FIRST 🐧
Did a poll on YouTube this morning. At one point, 5% of people said Linux isn’t required for DevOps. I go deep on this in my DevOps Roadmap and other YouTube videos, but let me save you some time: 💻 If you want to work in DevOps, you need to know Linux. Not casually. Not surface-level. Actually know it. ☁️ Every cloud provider 🐳 Every container 🏢 Every real-world job They all run on it. It’s not a bonus skill. It’s the foundation. If you’re skipping Linux, you’re skipping the job. Why do you personally think Linux matters?

Yea, the best way to start learning Linux is to actually use it. You could install Ubuntu or another beginner-friendly Linux distro on a VM, WSL (if you're on Windows), or dual boot as suggested. And for me, Linux is fun to work with. When you start to see the logic behind the commands and understand how the Linux system works, you can use that knowledge to create your own scripts and automate tasks effectively.

@Vishnu Murugan I would learn the file system, along with storage concepts like partitions, mounting, and encryption. Then move on to automation, scripting, package management, basic networking, user and group management, file permissions, and working with logs and monitoring tools. If you can, definitely go through the Linux course in the KubeCraft program — it's designed to cover the kind of practical Linux knowledge you’ll need for Kubernetes and DevOps.

@Laura Van den Burg Thanks Laura! I'll definitely reach out if I need help. I have a quick question — is the Career Accelerator program self-paced, or is there a specific timeline or deadline we should follow?
Levels 1 to 3? Say hello :-)
This post is for everyone who's still on levels 1 to 3. Go on, say hello :-) Anyone who's level 4 or higher is only allowed to use the reply function. Let's see if this works here -Mischa
