State of the Collection, August 2025
A few folks have asked, so here it is. It is not the biggest collection, but every piece has a story and gets worn. Apparently I am short a slot, which means I “have” to wear a watch every day. The winder also needs replacing, so a few of these are getting extra wrist time. Dress & Refined On the dressier side, I have the Oris Artix Pointer Moon, the Heritor Becker, and the Croton day/date. The Croton, with its two-tone bracelet and black dial, is comfortable and makes for a solid daily when I do not want to go too formal or too sporty. The Montblanc TimeWalker Chronograph straddles categories, sporty enough to wear casually but finished well enough to pull double duty when I need something a little more refined. I do not have a true dress watch yet. A slim, simple three hand on leather is still missing from the box. Tool & Sport For tool and sport, the Bulova Lunar Pilot is always a favorite, along with the Hamilton Pan Europ, Spinnaker Bradner GMT, a Citizen Eco-Drive chronograph, and the Haurex Magister. These cover travel, weekends, and anything that needs a little more utility on the wrist. Fun & Quirky I also have some fun pieces. The Elevon Northrop came to me through the EDC community, and the DSTIKE Deauther is more of a hacker’s tool than a traditional watch, but it earns its spot in the box. Comic Con Exclusives The Citizen Mandalorian Eco-Drive and the Citizen Darth Vader Death Star Eco-Drive are Comic Con exclusives that I actually wear. As someone involved with Comic Con International for many years, these add a personal connection as well as a collectible angle. Smart & Utility Rounding it out is my Garmin Fenix 7 Sapphire Solar. Not mechanical, but it is a workhorse for the gym, hiking, or hunting when I need data more than dial work. It may be a small collection, but it reflects what I enjoy about watches, style, function, quirks, and memories. Every piece earns its wrist time, which is exactly how I like it.

New adquisition!
Good evening gents! Not long ago, a video from Teddy Baldassarre, "The Most Collected Watches Under $1,000 By Enthusiasts" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VFTsRPXqI4g), was shared here in the Watch Lover community. Of course, went over it, but a watch caught my attention immediately. It was just different, and maybe the VERY casual watch I was missing to have on-hand. A Timex Weekender 38mm with Nylon Fabric Slip Through Strap, in Gray and Orange. The moment I saw it, I just had to laugh and go "that looks so cool!". Figured it being a Timex Weekender, it was probably inexpensive. Found it on amazon, $37. With Amazon payments of 5 monthly payments of $7. I laughed, and continued to do so through the process of adding it to the cart and checking out. Today, I finally got it on-hand! Like a kid falling in love with an inexpensive toy, that's the feeling. It looks so well, and not having a NATO strap (I really don't like them), but a Nylon through strap, it gives the look, but not the added dimensions, of a NATO strap. The gray and orange looks so awesome in real life... was giggling while trying it on. No complications at all, I'm half-impressed it even has a second hand. Probably the basic-est Quartz movement Timex could put on it. But the kid in me is still giggling. Oh, and LOOK! IT GLOWS! Can't wipe the smile off my face right now. Such a cool, inexpensive watch. 😂

@James Milson It's making me smile today on first wear. Not going to lie, I still think it's so cool looking. But, my only concern is the strap. It's on the thin side (comfortable!), but am questioning how long it will last. But for the price, I can;t really complain.
Challenge Day #4
What an amazing day to wake up and be thankful! Not everyone got the chance to wake up this morning. Not everyone was able to go to a refrigerator and grab something to drink or change the temperature in their home. We always have to remember to be grateful for the small things that we often overlook. Not only do we overlook these blessings from time to time but we also overlook humans. Today’s challenge. Stop and speak to someone, a coworker maybe, that you normally just walk by. Ask them how their week is going, and stop what you’re doing and really listen. Sometimes people just want to be heard. Have an amazing day my friends!

40, and digging RMRS content so much. Once you thought you got your things together, you find out that you really knew little. Much to learn.
