Reflecting on yesterday's experience with Edan was truly enlightening. The challenge we engaged in took me back to my childhood, particularly to moments when I was five years old, waiting for my mom to pick me up from school. I often found myself as the last child waiting, which at the time, left me feeling neglected and embarrassed. It seemed as though my mom didn't care, as I watched my friends leave with their parents. However, through the exercise, I gained a new perspective. I came to understand that my mom was juggling many responsibilities, often without the means or resources that others had. She didn't have a driver's license or a car, and relied heavily on the support of friends to pick me up. In retrospect, I can appreciate that she was doing her utmost to balance her obligations to her friends, her commitments to her Bible studies, and her responsibilities to me, all while being constrained by logistical challenges. This realization has brought me a great deal of peace and empathy towards my mom, who, at such a young age, was trying to manage so much. I feel incredibly grateful for her efforts and the love she showed in difficult circumstances. Additionally, this exercise highlighted the importance of effective time management in my own life. It is crucial to ensure that I am punctual and not overextended, even if the desire to meet others' expectations is strong. Prioritizing my well-being allows me to be more present and reliable in my commitments. I am sincerely thankful to Edan for facilitating this breakthrough and fostering a deeper understanding and compassion within me.
