Finished Indie Scene
I finished up my little 'indie movie' test scene. I'll admit to having some trouble keeping the character on model and getting good acting out of AI seems like a losing proposition. But after combining the AI clips with traditional film making techniques (e.g. vfx, sound design, etc.) I think it came together pretty well.

@Cameron Pierron much appreciated. It's definitely something I'm focusing on.

@Robert Oliveira Well that's what I get for uploading without checking the render first. I actually spent a good chunk of time on the sound here, shame it was all messed up for most people's viewing. Anywho, should be fixed now. And yeah, lol, that tree.

Thank you @Cameron Pierron for the new "Prompt Like a Director" Course 🎊!! I think I'll need it...πŸ•ΆοΈ When AI goes wrong:

That exploding jet shot is genuinely great. I'm sure it's not what you were going for but I bet manually getting a jet to explode into a bunch of other jets would be a real pain.

Hey guys, here's my first pass at creating clips in midjourney and editing them together to make a short piece. Excited to learn and grow alongside you all. Thanks Cameron for the group!

You started doing something interesting at the end there by layering the clips. That seems like a good avenue to explore πŸ‘
Trying a more grounded sequence
I wanted to really test the limits of the techniques we're all trying here. I decided to put together a sequence that I could probably film myself. I figure if I can get something so familiar looking right then it'll be easier to get more fantastical subjects and settings working believably. So to that end, here's my morning coffee routine. For now it's just a series of images representing each shot in the sequence, all made with Nano Banana. I figure I'll end up needing some more insert shots and cutaways once I get into the video edit, but this is a good place to start.

@Jason Skoolip I haven't actually done any upscaling on these. Sometimes nano banana just spits out a pretty high resolution. Sometimes it's really low. Haven't been able to figure out why yet
Wheel Suspense AKA Bomb Voyage
Inspired by pulp detective comics and film noir b - movies. I'll share my prompt (and hope you will share yours too!) "1950s street at night, wide crane angle, deep focus. Vintage car in foreground under neon sign, hidden bomb inside. Crowds as clear silhouettes in hard shadows, smoke drifting. Sharp chiaroscuro, black and white, cinematic grain, tense film noir atmosphere. Shot on 35mm film, 24mm lens, f/8 aperture, 2.39:1 aspect ratio. Framed like a storyboard: clean lines, strong foreground/midground/background separation, visual clarity for motion planning."

@Dylan Oliver That first image reminds me of Sin City. Super moody. Are you planning to clean up the text into something that isn't gibberish?

@Dylan Oliver I've got a small amount of text in one of my images. Right now I'm planning to just get in there with photoshop to fix it before feeding it to Veo for video creation.
