Happy Monday everyone! I've just uploaded a new e-book in the Unlockable e-Books classroom module 💛 Like a lot of you, I was the first person in my circle to actually try to start a business. Not "have a job," start a business. Which sounds great until you realise it means you've got zero support when it comes to the stuff nobody teaches you... like financials 😅 It took me YEARS to figure out my pricing was wrong. Years. And if I'm being honest, I didn't have a business. I had a really expensive hobby that I was very committed to. Eventually I hit a fork in the road: make this actually work, or go get a job. So I did what any dramatic small business owner does... I threw myself into courses and books trying to understand the financial side of things properly. How to actually charge to be profitable, not just busy. And then I ran into problem number two: I wasn't confident enough to charge what I was worth, even once I knew the numbers. That took its own kind of work. Mindset stuff. Learning to actually believe I deserved to be paid properly for what I do. So that's what this e-book is. Everything I wish someone had handed me back then... the concepts, the mindset shifts, the "here's why this matters" conversations that got me from expensive hobby to actual business owner. One of the biggest challenges for new nail techs is figuring out how to actually start their business legally. The problem is... every country (sometimes every council/state!) has different rules. Some require a licence and some require specific qualifications. Some require business registration, insurance, council approvals, tax registration... and some require very little at all. Instead of trying to piece everything together from random Google searches, I'd love for us to build one place where nail techs can find the information they need 🫶 HERE'S THE IDEA: We'll create a new Classroom course called How to Operate Legally, with a separate module for every country. Each module would include either: - A short PDF, or - A quick video ...created by a nail tech who actually lives and works there. You'd simply explain things like: - What qualifications (if any) are required. - Whether you need a licence or permit. - How to register your business. - Tax requirements. - Insurance recommendations or requirements. - Any other important legal information someone should know before taking clients. If we can get contributors from enough countries, we'll end up with an incredible resource that helps nail techs all over the world start their businesses with confidence! 🌻 If you'd like to create the module for your country, comment below with your country (or send me a message).
