Howdy folks!
After two weeks of long days at work I got home and got a run in. It was pretty nice with this cooler weather to get a few miles in. Hope for more this weekend before taking my kid on his school campout

Mate good to see you back on the trails👍🏻
I did it!
I had my first Olympic distance triathlon, (1.5k swim 40k ride and 10k run) had been doing sprint which is half the distance, last weekend and I finished and loved it. More time time to settle into each sport felt good. I have another Olympic in a couple of weeks then the big one in July. Thank you all for the support 🩷

You are absolutely smashing it 👏 Love following your training and seeing you step up from sprint to Olympic distance like it’s nothing. Sounds like you’ve really found your groove with the longer format too. Massive respect for the swim though… still think people who voluntarily open water swim are a bit mad 😂 Good luck for the next one and the big July challenge 💪
That one thing that kept you going...
Welcome back to another MONDAY MORING CONVERSATION SO just so you all know.... Every runner has faced the disappointment of injury, setbacks, or the long road of rehab at some point in their journey. It just comes with being a runner. So for today's "Monday Morning Conversation" Based on your own personal experience, what advice, encouragement, or perspective would you give to a runner currently going through an injury or rehab process right now? What helped you stay positive and keep moving forward? What was the one thing that you did the helped the most? Thanks for being amazing EAT CAKE RUN CLUB!

I’m probably not the best person to answer this because I’m old, stubborn, and usually try to push through injuries when I probably shouldn’t. But one thing I’ve learned is that strength training really matters. Most of the time when you get a niggle somewhere, it’s your body telling you it’s not strong enough to cope with what you’re asking it to do. The best thing you can do is work on that weak area instead of just ignoring it and hoping it disappears. Staying positive for me was always about still doing something — even if I couldn’t run properly, I could still work on strength, mobility, or recovery. Sometimes taking a step back and fixing the problem properly is what helps you move forward long term. But please remember I’m not the full ticket, definitely a bit weird and 100% not a physiotherapist.

I thought it would be fun and good for today’s “Monday Morning Conversation” to be a update: So, What are you doing in terms of running currently? Any races coming up ? I know @Kyle Dickerson has a few…. And 2nd: What has been your best run so far in 2026 ? Glad to be back you guys! I missed you. Can’t wait to hear what you are all up too ! V

Good to be back you absolute weirdos 🤘 Missed all the running stories, and the madness from you guys 😂 I did say no races this year… just getting back to enjoying running, no pressure, no chaos… just vibes. Well… about that 👀I may have been gifted a place on an 81 miler 😅 Still not 100% committed (trying to act sensible for once), but I’ve started sneaking in a bit of training… just in case. Because let’s be honest… never say never in this game
