Secret Skills 👀
For a lot of us, it hasn't always been nails! What are some cool industries you've worked in before, or while doing nails?

@Cat Tortorice Ah, yes. Human trafficking. I forgot about that part 😆 (or maybe blocked it out). We had a bit of that as well, probably not as much as what you would've seen. I left that scene about 5 years ago though, I can only imagine how much more everything has changed with AI

Welcome to The Nail Tech Corner! (Start here)
Hi everyone! I am beyond excited to open the doors to this space. Please visit the "START HERE" course in the classroom section to learn about how this space works x Then, let’s break the ice! Drop an intro below 👇Tell us: 1. Your name + where you’re based 2. How long you’ve been doing nails 3. One nail skill you’d love to master this year 4. Your social media handle - not the link (the only self-promo we'll allow 😉) Can’t wait to get to know each of you and start building something amazing together. 💅

@Amber Langley Welcome Amber 🥳 there are heaps of nail art tutorials in the space already (with more to come). Sometimes they're even done on lives, so you can hop in and ask questions 🫶. If you ever have any requests, just shout. I'm sure one of our lovely members would love to help and create something for you!

@Aqueelah Huewitt Hiiii Aqueelah! Welcome to the community 🥳💛 That's awesome, which type of product are you the most comfortable with? (Gel, acrylic, etc)
We've reached 100+ members! 🎉
If you're already here, congratulations! You've joined our amazing space for nail techs at the best possible time. We're about to increase our monthly membership to $20 a month for new members (don't worry, you're safe and locked in at the price you joined at). The main reason why we're doing this is to fairly compensate those who help us grow this space when inviting new members to join. If you didn't know, you have your own unique affiliate link to invite nail techs to this community. Going forward, you will earn $8 per month, per member that joins 💛 (this is where the "earning together" part comes in) Thank you so, so much for being here and being a part of this. I have some pretty exciting plans for this space, and how it's going to help nail techs from all walks of life, with all sorts of goals - what you're seeing is just the beginning 🫶 Have the most epic weekend, and again - thank you so much for being here 🤗
Abalone (Pāua) Shell Tutorial 🐚
Here is a tutorial on how to achieve an abalone shell look 🫶 very trust the process 😆 If you don’t have a black gel that works well with chrome, you can apply a coat of black gel polish, cure - then a coat of top coat and cure for 30 seconds. You should have success with that 😊✨

@Chloe Payne oooh, yes please! I was thinking about how to make the sections "bigger", if that makes sense. And maybe more bright of a blue? 🤔 I'd love to see what you gals come up with 😍
Stamping
I'd love to unlock stamping! I can't seem to get it right. I tried using pat pat gels and just have cheap shein stamp plates. Is that my problem? Also, where can I purchase a large rubber stamper from that covers a L - XL nail? Thank youuuu xx

I've got all the stuff for it, I just chucked it in a drawer and forgot about it. But I will dust it off and start playing with it again so we can see if we can figure it out 🫶

I do know some plates are better than others, some aren't etched deep enough, and that sometimes causes transfer issues. But there are definitely some good ones from the cheaper sites. Patting gel - haven't tried it for stamping, to be honest 🤔. I *think* they could work? But that may be formula-based. To be fair though, you're probably better off getting the stamping polishes. They have fast-drying formulas that'll be better at capturing fine, intricate details cleanly without shrinking or shifting on the stamper. Gels tend to pool, self-level, and blur fine lines, making them much harder to pick up and transfer.
