@Gracie De Ridder oooh, I wish for a world where dropping my prices would be a possibility 🙈. My current prices reflect a salon that is open 8+ hours a day, 6 days a week. It all adds up in little ways, like heating the salon 10 hours a day costs more than just for 2 hours. I also structure my pricing around ensuring the business's independent survival in unpredictable times. (for eg: something we don't like to think about, but if my partner and I were to ever separate, it would impact me less financially because I'm already charging enough to cover a rent expense of $500). My running costs (wage included) come up to around $90 (without art and the additional time, labour and skill investment that goes with that) a set (this includes everything like my booking system, WiFi, website, stock, rent, electricity - everything any business would need to cover to be self-sustainable). It's the GST & personal income tax that brings that $90 up to about $125 😪

With that being said though, I calculated my recent price increase to try and cover 4 clients a day, 5 days a week so that I can try to normalise my working hours 🙏
