What is the secret to why these YouTube videos all did so well? This isn’t a lecture; I’m asking you. What do you think is the reason? Trend surfing can only account for the one about the upcoming 5th installment. Is it the titles and thumbnails? Is it the topic? Or is it that fact that millions of people know and love The Matrix and it’s characters, and could rewatch it over and over and still enjoy it? Another important question here is, are these videos able to be monetized? Are they eligible for monetization under the “free use” clause, or are they suppressed due to copyright strikes? I’m actually not totally sure. I’m thinking of making a video like these and testing it on my other YouTube channel to see what happens. I haven’t made a “video essay” made from movie clips before, but I do love a good challenge and a good experiment, and this would be both. If y’all have knowledge or experience in this niche, please share what you know in the comments, or tell us your best guess as to why these videos do so well and how it can be applied to other YouTube niches.
