Atmosphere layers on drop
Hey guys! I have a question about atmospheres that play along your chords & leads in drops…do you cut them when the chords and leads are cut for rhythm & space? Or do you let them ring out? Is there a right vs wrong? Or is it whatever sounds good?

It really depends, and there’s no right or wrong way to do it. Experiment and you’ll come up with your own style. Whether I’m making bass house or future house I’m using atmosphere the same way. With my main melodies I’ll cut them if I’m looking for that “tight” sound. Especially on faster rhythms. I’m I want a more open sound I’ll let them ring out, but controlled. I freeze my atmospheres so I can easily chop them how I want.
Updated Kingston Remix from Feedback Session (WIP)
Sup guys, I tried implementing the feedback mentioned for my Faye Webster - Kingston (Giusony Remix) from the feedback session, which was mainly to lean into the first LFO manipulation sound + not have 800 ideas all in one song. Wanted to drop a link here in case any one was gracious enough to provide updated feedback. I'm now at the point where maybe I leaned too hard into that one sound lol, but lmk what you guys think. Still a work in progress! Appreciate it very much https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/go4dyft70keof1bfd90p9/Kingston_GiusonyRemix_WIP_QH.wav?rlkey=fvedpod5t7focppqz6v8c39e3&dl=0

This track is so sick. Super unique. Whenever I use LFO’s, especially on vocals, keep 2 things in mind. 1) a new listener needs to be able to be able to tell what is going on. For me specifically, the lfo in the beginning where she is singing “Kingston” is super cool but it took me a little bit to understand what she way saying. Not saying change it I’m just giving you an example of what I mean when I say “make sure the listener can track what’s going on” Keep in mind it is your track so you will be extremely biased on that front. 2) While LFO’s are super sick, imo they tend to leave sounds sounding very dry. Part of that is the people use them. The rapid contrast in volume has a sick effect, but the intro in your (before the chords) has a more floaty, dreamy, pink cloud vibe. I would lean into that by reverbing out your vocals and chords AFTER the lfo. Not enough to overpower the lfo, but enough to open it up a little. Other than that, I would just say it needs some transitional FX and maybe some warmer chord layers throughout. Awesome track dude :)
How do people post mashups
I’ve made a few mashups which involve stem splitting two songs and mixing them together, but whenever I try to upload to Soundcloud I always get hit with copyright violations. I’m not trying to impede on copyright and I’ve seen so many other songs on SoundCloud that do the same thing. How do people upload songs to SoundCloud that aren’t originals? Do I have to file a copyright claim? Would love some tips here!
