Get away from the computer
Hi Team, Curious and thinking about this a bit - I get ideas on content to write and film while out and about and dont want to loose them. The content idea is one of the steps in my writing room, but Im not at my computer. How do I hook up slack / claude etc on my phone to interact with the ICM so I can drop that idea in? This is a small narrow case here, but interested to know also how to interact with it off a computer. Maybe thats a bad idea because I'll never step away from working! Love your work JVC thank you Thanks
@Eric Jones yeah I do that too, but I feel like the urge to develop the idea while I’m sat waiting for a burger.
Broken wrist, Afternoon Tea and JEV
A few days ago I had one of those frustrating experiences where you think: there has to be a better way of doing this. My daughter fractured her wrist and we had been at one of the local medical clinics to get it sorted. Everything was fine, except I forgot to ask for a certificate so she could be excused from her swimming lessons. No big deal, I thought. I’ll just call the clinic. I found the number on Google Maps, called and was greeted by the usual menu: Press 1 if you need urgent medical assistance. Press 2 to reschedule an appointment. Press 3 to access policy information. … There were 5 options. None of them fitted and each had submenus leading me nowhere where I needed to go. There was no “press 0 for an operator” either. So after 4 completely new calls, and getting really good at skipping to the next menu, I finally pressed 1 because at that point I was close to needing urgent medical assistance. Mentally preparing my apology to whoever I’d be connected to, another automated menu opened. “Which clinic would you like to be connected to?” I selected the right clinic and immediately got through to somebody. A few words exchanged with a real human and the requested certificate landed in my email not even 5 seconds after I ended the call. The day of my “interesting” call experience was last Sunday. Last Saturday, I joined my first Afternoon Tea session with Jake. We talked about a few interesting things. One of them was JEV. I had watched Jake’s video about it as well. Suddenly the dots connected and I thought man, this is actually a really good JEV use case. Instead of making me work out which menu option vaguely matches what I need, why not just let me say: “My daughter fractured her wrist. We were at this clinic and I forgot to get a certificate for her. I need one for her swimming lessons.” Something like JEV could classify the request and decide where it needs to go. That alone would already be an improvement. Then I thought, hold on, this could get even more interesting if there was an ICM behind it. Imagine the system already has access to the relevant information about my daughter, the clinic visit, what happened and whatever other information is required for this particular process. JEV’s job might simply be to work out: What is this person trying to do? Which workflow does this belong to? Where should it go next?

We use GHL for IVR and their voice ai is one of the most frustrating things to train. I want it to do as you envisage, gonna think about this as a way to make that work
ICM Org Deployment
Wanted to share in case it may help some of you trying to figure out how you can take the ICM framework and deploy it at an org/dept level. I work at a company of roughly 75-100 people, we're a tech company and I was tasked with building out our internal business AI capabilities. There are a lot of options, and I'm sure we'll continue to evolve and iterate the current system, but here's what works for us now: Problem - the ICM framework is great, controlled context/routing so a model can produce expected outputs. The course and Jakes video's used Claude Code as the primary surface, given that the system itself is agnostic, it's the structure that matters. The challenge for me was "how do I take this framework that works exceptionally well for myself in a Claude Code environment, and deploy it for my entire company on one of the Claude's UI interfaces (lets be real, sales team isn't going to download VSCode)" Initial Solution - I tried making everything it's own skill. I quickly realized bad move. Fine if you have 5 skills, breaks down at scale. You potentially run into 1) context injection problem because all skill definitions get loaded in at session start and 2) skill definitions bleed (ie. 2 or more skills with potentially similar/overlapping definitions) What Worked: 1. Surface - Claude Cowork - it's available through the main UI, anyone from our team can access it as long as they're part of the organization 2. Deployment - the ICM project gets zipped and uploaded as a plugin. A plugin has a handful of bootloaders, one of which includes "skills/". This is where your project lives, and instead of CLAUDE.md and CONTEXT.md at your project root, SKILL.md acts as your high-level routing logic. Note: plugins do have a size limit of 200 MB and 5,000 files. You can use Claude Github App to propogate any merges rather than manually uploading, but unfortunately we couldn't do this due to security concerns. My plugin project structure is attached in the image provided. 3. MCP - the plugin connects to an internal MCP we stood up - currently in EC2, really anything that requires oauth or secrets is managed here. Our tasks just call the necessary MCP tool

Thanks for sharing, we do this using github, and 4 repos. For context my team are not coders, and abut half have just created their first github accounts. We have a data directory, contains a workspace governance md that assists and enforces ICM, and onboarding skill for first use, a skills directory for anything we build to do the deterministic, and then .me and .env for user specifics (who, what why, goals and toolset for each user) Our claude.md has some rules in it to always read the governance, the .me and prompt the user periodically to push and update from github. We run a business internal space, and as we are an agency doing things for clients, a client space. The docs and skills repos are shared across both. We've sanitised this into a downloadable, and I recorded a video today going through how to set it up using VS Code, and how to use it in a Google Shared Drive for soloists through VS Code.
Grandma passed and my uncle has cancer
Hey y'all, not a sympathy post. This isn't me saying I'm taking time off for anything. In fact it's the opposite. My grandma passed away last week and I was cleaning out her apartment with my mother and talking to my aunt (both of them it was their mother). I can tell they're struggling. It's why I work so hard honestly on the software community on everything else. Almost none of the money goes to me. I give it to my family, my wife my friends. It's what makes me happy. I'm building a company specifically so my family doesn't have to struggle. Been helping out where I can but obviously been focusing a lot on the business. My uncle also has cancer and so my aunt has been taking care of him and also at the same time dealing with a death of her mother . Best way I can contribute has been through cash and some love here are there. With that though means I don't always have the time to do what I need to do. So honestly, I'm asking for your help if you're willing to donate to my aunt's GoFundMe on top of the help that I'm giving. I've just donated a bit and would love other people to help out. To me, if I work hard I can make sure that my whole family is taken care of. But in the small ways I can help where I can I will do my best too And that goes with asking for help from others. So if you all could help me out help them out. That would be amazing https://gofund.me/45b6655ba

Good motivations for doing what you do. My uncles going through it right now, it’s one of the facts of life. Hopefully we have some people younger than us that will do that same for us as we get to that stage. Keep at it Jake!
I come asking for help! (NEW ROUND! VOTE ONCE A DAY PLS)
