Mindset matters, and matters of the mind
Fathers often don't talk about whats on their mind, and fatherhood can feel really lonely at times. I know I have struggled at times with feeling isolated, and questioning if I am leading my kids in the right direction. What do you think is the biggest mindset challenge of being a dad?

There’s an excellent book by Angela Duckworth titled Grit. Dr. Duckworth defines Grit as: Grit is a positive psychological trait defined as the combination of passion and perseverance towards long term goals. I believe that these two factors create a mindset that helps us keep on a more positive trajectory! Her research has shown that when young people have this combination they much more likely to succeed than those who lack these traits.
From boys into men
Took my 8 year old son turkey hunting Wednesday night. It's amazing how hunting can change a boy into a man in a moment. In today's digital age our sons grow up as gamers and device addicts, disconnected from the world they are called to lead in. It's time to get them back to manhood. And it's our role as father's to lead them into it. Whats an intentional and practical activity you have done with your children recently?

I went fishing with my oldest son. He does the same thing with his son now! Generation to generation—and beyond!

Welcome! Introduce yourself
👋 Welcome to the Community, If you're here, it's because want to grow and share wisdom with others. This is a space for Christian fathers who want to build a legacy that matters. I recently read a quote that says: You want to start with the end in mind. This community exists because I believe fathers who know their identity in God and lead with biblical wisdom are able to significantly impact the world around them, starting with their homes, then their wider communities. Step 1: Introduce Yourself Drop a comment below and tell us: 1) How many kids/grandkids you have 2) Where are you from? 3) What do you do? 4) The one area you want to grow in most right now? 5) Why drew you to this community? Step 2: Show Up and Share This community is full of fathers wanting to grow and and share with other dads. Lets be a go giver community. Remember it's more blessed to give than recieve. We're here to grow together, to challenge one another, and to build each other up in love. Josh

The most important thing is being present. And while you are there, with your kids, never let them think you are to tough, cool, or big to cry and pray!🙏
