Hello my brothers and sisters. I joined this group because I believe the Word of God needs to be shared in a community dialogue with the goal of mutually growing together. One asks a question. That question and need for understanding causes others to prayerfully provide guidance in the way of following Jesus and growing in the knowledge of God. Both grow together and encounter God in the process and each blesses each other. Another favorite verse of mine is in Romans 1 where Paul the Apostle anticipates helping a group of disciples in the city of Rome with his presence and contribution while also believing that those group of people will provide spiritual value to his own life. “For I want very much to see you, so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to strengthen you, 12 that is, to be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine. -- “Romans 1:11-12 (CSB) Paul shares that in the New Covenant established by Jesus every believer is a minister of the New Covenant and a living epistle or letter upon which the Spirit of God is writing the truths of the Word of Christ upon our hearts. So Bible Study is relational and when the relational part is promoted and guarded everybody eventually grows together and gains greater stability in the love of Christ. Blessings, Doug

Family tree of a King - Matthew 1:1-17
This week we begin by reading Matthew 1:1–17 — the genealogy of Jesus. Before any teaching video is released, we start by reading the text itself. What to do: 1. Read Matthew 1:1–17 slowly 2. Do not skip names 3. Read it as theology, not as a list As you read, observe: - How is the genealogy structured? - Where do patterns repeat? - Which names feel unexpected or out of place? - Why might Matthew open his Gospel this way? Questions to consider: - What does Matthew want us to understand about Jesus before telling any stories? - How does this genealogy connect Jesus to Israel’s history? - What kind of Messiah is being introduced here? You do not need answers yet. Bring your observations and questions.

Son of Abraham Son of David These two stories highlight two major promises that God gave to two families concerning their off spring and how God would establish and bless the Hebrews in such away that this blessing would extend to all peoples and nations. The promises are foundational. With Abraham God establishes a covenant and the birth of a nation governed by God With David speaks about a King and a Kingdom. Jesus is identified as the offspring of both Abraham and David fulfilling both of those promises. I have shared enough . . Go check out and thoughtfully read Genesis Chapter 17 and 2Samuel Chapter 7 for yourselves. And think of not only how the people of Israel were blessed by trusting God to be their God in considering history past but how we are blessed today through the living Jesus Christ as we trust God through Him.
