Something Has to Change (If You Want Change)
Time and time again, I see the same heartbreaking pattern in the online entrepreneurial space. People want to build their own business. They want freedom. They want to make good money—or a lot of money. But they're drowning without enough money to live. Maybe they can't get enough clients. Maybe they get clients and then lose them. Maybe they're building up debt because they're not making enough money. They don't want to go get a job. Their significant other is stressed because the debt keeps climbing every month, and there's no end in sight. I don't have a perfect solution for everyone. But I can tell you this: **Something has to change if you want change.** And what I find most of the time is that people don't really face the depth of what that could mean. ## The Endless Cycle of New Ideas Week to week, they come up with different ideas on how to get out of it. They're going to try this tactic or that tactic. They're going to start creating content to get new clients. But they don't. They're going to start cold email. They send 2 or 3 and then stop. What I see—and I know several of these people personally—is they get completely stressed out to the point where it's hard to function. And it affects their performance, which creates a vicious cycle. I'm not going to pretend it's easy to get out of this. It can be incredibly difficult. ## My Own Rock Bottom I was in a very similar situation once. I was $30,000 in credit card debt and couldn't make enough money to get out of it. The only way I was able to escape was by working like a dog. I worked essentially 24/7—multiple gigs at the same time, morning till night. I was lucky enough to be in a situation where I didn't have kids yet, so it was possible. I had a girlfriend (soon to be my wife), but we didn't spend as much time together. I had to sacrifice. I didn't have work-life balance. I had work-life. A lot of it. But I made good money, and I was able to pay it off. I found a couple of good clients that had ongoing work, and I just worked my ass off.

I have crossed so many of these hurdles. Only two things have helped: 1. talking to lots of potential clients about the product to not only validate the idea but in the end to make it better. (There was a time when I could not find anyone to talk to about my product and it was a big signal 🚨, time to adjust. I made a few tweaks and continue to have a lot of calls with people.) 2. Focus and stop listening to the Internet. As Stephen says above, the Internet Lies to You.

Thank you for sharing. Sometimes I get stuck in those same repeats. I feel like your content must take a lot of prep @Stephen G. Pope so the end part of pointing things out and covering the more technical elements adds another level of challenge to what you are teaching.
Make vs n8n—The Wrong Choice Will Cost You
Serious about AI Automation? join the No-Code Architects. What if you knew exactly which automation platform to use? Make or N8N? so you didn’t waste tons of time learning the wrong platform? I’ve been using automation to generate $100K per month consistently, so today I’m going to condense what I’ve learned teaching 100s of beginning automators and 100s of business owners to help you pick the right automation platform. But I’m not just going to just explain the differences, I’ll go further and explain why it matters to you specifically. Whether you’re a beginner or intermediate automation expert, or a business owner looking for the right solution, today you’re going to learn how to pick the best automation platform for you. By the end of this video you’ll know the important differences between make and n8n plus which one is best for you.

This has been an incredible learning experience. I had been using Zapier for a while and spent quite a bit on it, but then I kept seeing Stephen in my YouTube feed talking about Make.com. Honestly, I was hesitant to switch at first. However, I finally moved everything over, and last week, I built a story generator with my grandson, it created a story, an image, and an Eleven Labs narration. This weekend, I started working on the latest n8n Instagram scraper and now have the first version of my customer onboarding process complete. Understanding what each tool in your tech stack does allows you to make more informed choices and get things done more efficiently. Thank you for helping us along in this journey Stephen.

@Adrian Dobiecki that is a great question that will require a long answer. I run a small, high six-figure digital marketing agency that leverages AI for SEO. I am using automation to chip away at the most manual tasks and I am building a few tools for onboarding and establishing content calendars, etc. I believe that by speeding onboarding, clarifying client needs and using AI and automation to build some of the content, it will help us get to the next inflection point. I have hired people before when I didn't have the core knowledge to establish how to do something in the past and wasted a lot of money in the process. I would imagine that initially my company grows slower because I am doing this. However, when we get to the point where we are fully implementing, the gas pedal is all the way to the floor and we are able to implement, troubleshoot and move forward faster than most. When we are creating automations or when there is a problem (if someone else is doing it) I know how to frame the solution or can ask questions that will bring us to a solution faster. I can also take on the responsibility and assist in resolving the issue. I still consider myself a noob at this and there is a lot I do not know about coding. The best way to learn in this case is real-world experience IMO.
