Your Voice gets Tired Quickly?
Many singers become frightened when their voice gets tired quickly. Especially when the fatigue appears after only 15 or 20 minutes of singing. They immediately assume: "Something must be wrong with my vocal folds." Sometimes that is true. But surprisingly often, the real problem lies somewhere else. Excess pressure. Compensation. Muscular imbalance. Poor coordination. Constant over-efforting. One of the most important things singers can learn is how to recognize the difference between genuine vocal health problems and inefficient vocal behaviour. Because these are two very different things. That is exactly why I created the section: 🎓 VOICE PROBLEMS & HEALTH Inside PRO. I've just uploaded a lecture about muscular dysphonia and the patterns that often appear when singers start forcing the voice instead of coordinating it efficiently. You'll also find a detailed Self Assessment Test for Muscular Dysphonia inside the same section. 🔗 Ready To Go Deeper? https://www.skool.com/evateachingopera-free-7168/plans Down here you can watch a small excerpt of LECTURE 1 Find the whole lecture series in PRO / VOICE PROBLEMS & HEALTH

Yes, this does have to be every once in a while, Since I do two hour sets, and sometimes three hour sets 3 to 4 days a week Sometimes right off 20 minutes and I start feeling fatigue I usually use that fatigue to start singing in my lower register and put more resonance into my tone, think deep deep Bass But I can’t stay there every song so I have a little trick.. I opened up my mouth very wide, of course, I turned away from the audience And I pull my tongue out as far as I can and hold it out for a while. I do this about two or three times. It tends to loosen all of the tension around my chest neck, and where it counts And then resume with a song that’s a little easier in my upper register to get the mechanics going in the right direction But it comes with a little downfall once I do that I have to sing most of the rest of my songs in my upper register I have a very very large octave range.. When I say get it going, it tends to give me a little more focus and energy

Stop Trying To Sound "IMPRESSIVE" !
🎶 One thing I’ve noticed in many singers: the voice often becomes freer the moment the singer stops trying to sound “impressive.” Very often, freedom begins with simplicity, honesty and coordination - not force. In this post I share a video of my student Lidia singing PIE JESU with real simplicity, honesty and natural coordination. Just connected, free singing and trust in the voice. Lidia is also part of my Online Classical Singing Masterclass, where you can follow her COMPLETE vocal journey over three years AND build your own voice step by step together with us. Lidia is also a member of this community. So..feel free to ask her everything you’d like to know about her vocal journey!!!

Thank you for this. It’s not that complicated. I hate when people overthink about singing they make it into some sort of far out journey or illusion. It’s your body it’s your voice. It’s like anything else you use you know how to grip something with your hand you know how to walk? It’s just a matter of being intelligent and understanding how it works and how to keep it healthy If I went for an intelligent walk every day, the structure of my body, including my lungs and heart would be functioning to walk every day and to achieve the best walk I can get If I continue to use my voice that way, keeping it healthy and understanding, it’s an anatomy then I don’t have to think about it. I can just sing, and whatever gift that has been given to me will be revealed to its full potential… Most people that overthink this want more than they have the ability to offer. They dream of being a superstar singer someday, that’s just my take on it Use what you got, and do the best with it..

@Eva Lindqvist thank you Eva. I didn’t want to sound harsh… But I run into this often,.. And yes, I totally agree with you on your point
🎶 Monday Singer Question
Have you ever noticed that the more you TRY to control everything while singing… the harder singing sometimes becomes? 🙂 Many singers experience moments where overthinking creates tension, pressure or loss of freedom in the voice. Very often, technique works best when the body remembers coordination naturally - instead of constantly interfering with it consciously. Almost like opening a door and allowing the voice to move freely through it. I’m curious: have you experienced this yourself? 🎶

YES ! Very well described.. It’s another form of honesty.. Just like being an actor and going on stage Many people have the false impression that you have to memorize the lines verbatim Yes, of course you do with timing and all, but if you honestly know the story, and you’re honestly using your training, the story will flow through you without you even trying to remember any of the lines They will just happen Just like singing the way you explained it We as artists have that special gift of finding and honesty within ourselves that is rounded and delivered
Singer Question: Support vs Tension
🎶 One thing many singers misunderstand about support One thing I see in many singers: they try to create “support” by becoming too rigid. Especially when working on breath support or rib expansion, many singers start holding, bracing or pushing too much. But very often, good support feels more like dynamic balance than muscular force. The body stays alive. Responsive. Flexible. Not locked. I’m curious: Have you ever struggled with too much tension while trying to “support” the voice? 🙂

My muscle memory is tied to a door in my mind when that door opens. I just leave it open and I don’t think about any of my mechanics. I allow them to enter an exit through that door, but when I start to think about it, I shut that door and that’s when I run into trouble. I just sing, and my true spirit of vocal education does the work for me
