I Finally Finished them—First Set of Custom Woodies
Just finished up a fresh set of Douglas fir arrows I built myself and wanted to share them with you. These were a full hands-on project for me—custom dyed feathers, “poor man” splices, and I even mixed the wine red paint myself (came out a shade darker than I had in mind, but I don’t hate it. The paint lines definitely need work, I could have done one more layer of white, and the overall design measurement are far from perfect, but that’s part of the process and learning curve. Because I love math and knowing my equipment, here are my Specs: • Total Arrow Weight: 506-512 grains • Arrow Length: 26 inches • Grains per Pound (gr/lb): 12.5 • FOC: 15.4 % I built these as my 3D set. I’m excited to get them out, shoot them hard, and see how they hold up. That’ll tell me a lot before I dive into building my actual hunting arrows—which will be a whole lot less flashy 🤣 Always open to feedback from you guys— Can’t wait to put these through the wringer.

Night hunt
Got out to sit in the stand tonight hoping for a spring bear to come by and found my self think about the post @Grant Richardson made the other day about distance and about the same time my thoughts manifested in front of me. Moments like this just hammer it home more that the best camo really is don’t move and be quiet

@Grant Richardson funny enough the second deer in the video is a little button buck.
How to become a better Bowhunter now
It's about how close you can get that's the true challenge! For some folks 10 feet is their distance for some it’s 50 feet. Everyone is different! 🎯 What is your true maximum effective lethal range?

When it comes to deer never over 15 yards but something like elk or moose would be 30 yards at most

@Grant Richardson thanks but I can’t take any credit on em. There crested wraps that I got from 3 rivers.

Good ol string on a willow branch to start out. My first real hunting bow was a browning micro adrenaline that I shot bare finger instinctive for about 5 years.
