Greetings World. Stay in Skool. Don't do drugs. Well, somebody had to say it. So, this group focuses on personal empowerment, leadership and catching the dreams drifting around us through discovering the mystical hidden power of the English language. Please introduce yourself and tell a story about how certain words have affected you. Be forewarned that the name of this group may change at some point. Also, I just opened my account, so it is under construction.
Hello everyone, I hope you're all doing well. I want to talk about something interesting today: how language affects the way we think. English isn’t my first language, but I’m a fluent speaker (C1 certified). After years of studying English, I’ve noticed how much our language influences our thoughts. This idea has been a big question in philosophy: What comes first, thought or language? It's fun to think about how different languages might change how we see the world, think, and even feel. For example, does speaking a language with lots of words for emotions make us more aware of our feelings? Or does the way a language is structured affect how we organize our thoughts? I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences on this. How has learning a new language changed the way you think? Do you think our native language limits or expands our minds? Let’s chat about how language and thought are connected.
