This week’s charge: Lead what’s already yours — your gear, your space, your attitude.
I’ve been thinking about the concept of “leadership,” and I think a lot of people get it wrong. The Army defines leadership as providing purpose, direction, and motivation. But what people often misunderstand is that we must first learn to follow before we can truly learn to lead. These two roles — leader and follower — are symbiotic. You can’t have good leaders without good followers, but good followers are leaders in their own right. Continuing with my Army example, even the lowest-ranking soldier in basic training is still expected to lead in some capacity. You might not realize it at the time, but you’re already in charge, what we don’t realize is that is simply just your equipment, your bunk, your attitude. That’s leadership, you are Charged With the care and maintenance or your equipment, or In Charge. Too often, we think leadership means holding some big title or being in charge of others. But real leadership starts small — it starts with you. Be responsible for what you have control over. Set your own purpose, direction, and motivation. Lead yourself well, and leadership at higher levels will follow naturally.
Don’t Take Yourself Too Serious (and Still Get Big Results)
On today’s call, @Jake Bilbo dropped a gem: “Don’t take yourself too serious.” Here’s the deal — perfectionism is ego.The ego says, “If I’m perfect, then I’m somebody.”But perfect isn’t even possible. Jesus taught grace. Buddha taught letting go. Being hard on yourself won’t make you better — it just traps you in the same loop. Real confidence is being cool with your flaws while still chasing growth. When you stop trying to look perfect, you actually get more real, more confident, and build deeper connections. So how do you balance it? Action List: 1. Laugh at yourself — humor kills ego. 2. Focus on process, not perfection — small wins stack. 3. Drop negative self-talk fast — get back on the horse. 4. Separate worth from results — you’re more than your current scorecard. 5. Make growth the game — not being flawless, but being better. It’s not about being perfect. It’s about being real, relentless, and willing to grow.

I think ego has a lot to play in this, if we let go of ego we can let go of perfection and engorged who we are and really thrive!
The Hardest Lesson in Leadership I Learned This Week.
This week I got hit with a hard truth: I am the ceiling. John Maxwell calls it the Law of the Lid. Your team, your students, your family… they will never rise higher than you do. If I’m a 6 mentally, spiritually, financially — then the Warriors Order is capped at a 6. That’s a duty I can’t take lightly. I realized something else. Leadership isn’t just big speeches or running a group call. It’s one-on-one. It’s opening up, having hard conversations, and admitting where you’re wrong. And that’s not easy for me — communication has never been my strong point. But this week I sat down with men, face to face, and talked through the tough stuff. That’s leadership too. So here’s my challenge to you: pick one relationship this week and have the hard conversation. Reach out to your brother, father, son, or friend. Admit where you’ve fallen short. Sit down and lay it all out. That’s what leaders do. Let us know below who you need to do this with or who you've recently had an important talk with. And remember — this is a team effort. I’m looking for leaders. Invite a friend into the group who’s ready to step up. Don’t forget: Tuesday at 12PM CST we go live right here in the group with the new Skool feature. The topic is Identity. This is where real transformation begins. Don’t miss it. (Set a reminder, this will be a life changing call) And if you’re ready to take it further — to challenge yourself, build confidence, gain massive clarity — then join the Unchained Challenge. Start your reset today. Onboarding here: Start Here: Onboarding Video, Quick Guide & Manual - Join Unchained Challenge · Warrior’s Order Let’s lead by example. Get locked In — AB

@Alan Belcher admitting our shortcomings gives the illusion of failure. But it’s the fastest way to spark growth. We used to an “AAR” or after action review after every training event, we’d cover what we didn’t right but more important, what we did wrong. It was never intended to bring you down and berate, but to show you the areas that need improvement! We’d make a list and when I was time to make our training plan we used those as your starting point.
I couldn’t have said it better so I just pasted the link

@Alan Belcher being capable of violence doesn’t make you violent. We lost our way, we need to bring back masculinity!
