The first time I ordered fish and they brought it out with head and tail still in place, I about fainted!! Made them take it back to the kitchen to remove them. I admit, I almost can’t stand my fish sticks fish shaped! I am truly a heathen!!!
Company is coming soup!
A bit chilly and damp today and we have company coming!! Our oldest daughter and sil are coming, so I made all day vegetable soup. Sadly, stores no longer carry “soup bones” and what scrappy bones you might find are ridiculously overpriced.

@Natalie Brigmond Good reminder about the cooler! We ought to keep one in the car for grocery shopping anyway. The local grocery is tiny so we usually go to Terre Haute or Vincennes. Occasionally Linton.

@Violette Simonet Florida used to advertise gator meat but probably not such a big deal anymore. What seemed so exotic when I was young is pretty standard fare these days. Image popped up of the first time Mom cooked a duck Dad shot. Gag! She got better but not my favorite dish! Oh, and the time a friend brought rabbits…ready to cook. OMG!! Doug fried it and we sat down and tried to pick pieces up when toddler Heather said, “Mommy, which piece is the face?” Eating halted!
