The Giraffe Is ready To View (Ask Questions & Submit Giraffe Here By 3rd August)
As requested I went with a standing Giraffe! Its a little more challenging, but lots to learn and I'm sure this will open up a new skill to make other fun standing toppers. You can view and make the 'Giraffe' PDF & tutorial here: https://www.skool.com/cakecraftclub/classroom/7dab47d7?md=db9c07a891b34ae58441c8e0a9a95b19

Yes, I have cried a couple of times. Gotten mad many more times! In fact, that is why I now mostly make toppers and flowers but not cake. I was usually upset over buttercream. I would spend hours trying to perfect my buttercream. It would finally come out perfect. Yea! Then as soon as I started to ice the cake, the nightmare would begin!! I would struggle so much. I watched videos and more videos and more videos... I am doing what they so say to do. Metal scraper, turntable, freezer, etc. Then, I watched a better video, from a better teacher. She talked about consistency. That you need different buttercream for different parts of the cake. Firmer for inside, looser for the outside. Ugh!! So simple, yet caused so much heartache! The fix: soften the buttercream just a bit for the outside of the cake. So simple! This is why you need a great teacher. Which is why I am part of this Cake Club!! Excited to learn!
Vegetable Fat Tips!
- Use it to stick flat decorations to the side of your cakes - easily movable - Touch with your finger and tap tiny pieces to lift and place - great if you have nails - Use it to lift stain colours out of your board with paper towel - Add to hands as a barrier when mixing colours and stop paste sticking to your hands

These are great tips! You can also dip a small paintbrush into vegetable fat and then use it to pick up tiny fondant details. Another great tip with vegetable fat: Add a tiny dab to gumpaste when making sugar flowers. It makes it so much easier to handle the petals without having them dry out. 💖
