I made this cake a while back but I’ve only just found the video I created and thought I would share it with you all 💕

Made this a couple of days ago for a friend’s daughter, she shed a tear when she saw it (a happy tear thank goodness😅). Top tier was chocolate fudge cake with Nutella & chocolate buttercream, the bottom tier was vanilla with jam.

A customer has booked in for this design at the end of September. I’m fairly confident with making the square cake itself, however, the thought of making the figures and standing lid is giving me a lot of anxiety. I’m going to study the videos on making the Toy Story figures which should be a massive help, but where on earth do I start with assembling the lid so it stays upright and secure? I’d appreciate any advice, tips or suggestions as this is by far my most complicated bake. Also, what size board would you recommend for this cake to sit on? I have been told she wants the cake rather large and I do have a very big square cake tin which I’ll attach to the this post (it’s bigger than A4 size); I was thinking of doing three layers?
