@Susan Hoppe I can't imagine how many times they heard that it's a Westie πŸ˜‚ People keep calling Dougal a Westie πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈπŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ
What are your 2026 Goals?
Do you have any goals for 2026? Or, maybe it's more like a bucket-list... just stuff you'd like to do. What comes to mind?

@Nick Benger believe me, I thought of it πŸ™ˆ I just sold a ton of gift certificates for people telling them that the session is going to be near Winchester πŸ˜‚
Weekend Off-Topic
First weekend of 2026. So are we discussing Stranger Things? I lost my car keys this morning. We looked for them for two hours before admitting defeat. I had to call out a locksmith which was very expensive πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ

Train one of your guys to find your stuff πŸ˜‰ Im training Dee on the keyring (not too reliable yet), but my mantrailing instructor has trained his dog on the key itself, credit card, etc and they had to use it a good few times
Training question
I have a job for Deedee, I'm attaching the brief. Dee can obviously tug on cue but when she does that she'll bite close to the hand, sometimes even putting her paws on me For this to work I believe it would be better if she'd bite further down the line. How would you train this?

@Gary Martin I was thinking of that. My worry is that if I remove the target, she'll go back to her default behaviour. But I already ordered a rope and will make sure that the juta rope is only tugged towards the end so if I build a habit it might stick. I have until the 8th of January
Toy tidy
Plugging much the same. Had some great "stops" from Igor, when he is listening he is great. I've been using a flat hand with the word heel which seems to be working better with him. Tried to start teaching him "tidy" however it proved too much having more than one toy so it's going to take some work. Phoenix will show you what he is supposed to be doing, he will show you how he does it πŸ˜‚ I got some good clips of them. Igors middle is still some what of a wrecking ball 😬

yes, I did train a remote stop. the first thing I would say is please do not train it on a slippery surface. it's not good for the joints. (I wouldn't train anything on slippery floor, I would always use a yoga mat, especially with a breed that has a lot of joint issues.) I trained the remote stop with the help of Jo Lauren's course, it's amazing. I can sum it up quickly if you want me to :) It's advised to start with puppies but my girl was already around 1 when I did it and it worked lovely.
