9 contributions to Gov Contract & Business Growth
This week reminded me that business is rarely a straight line.
We had wins, challenges, long drives, great conversations, new ideas, and plenty of problem-solving along the way. One thing I’ve learned is that growth doesn’t happen when everything goes perfectly. Growth happens when you keep moving forward despite the obstacles. This week I was reminded how grateful I am for this community and for the opportunity to continue learning, building, and helping others. I’d love to hear from you: ✅ What was your biggest win this week? ✅ What challenge are you working through? ✅ What is one goal you have for next week? Let’s celebrate the wins and support each other through the challenges. 👇

My biggest challenges this week were waiting for Sam.gov and the small business site to sync. There is a 2 to 3 day lag period between updates from one site to the next. I am finding it challenging to keep what each site does - etc. I have had a very busy week, with my site - and I have not had time to focus like I would like on the government contracting My goal for next week, is to schedule another appointment with my counselor. So she can set up the bid match system. This is going to be another very busy week. I would like to be able to identify a few possible proposals.
I got my CAGE Code!
Just received the notification I have a CAGE code Registration Activated for CaregiverRelief LLC / MNTQBN3HRNT9 / 20ZC8 in the U.S. Government's System for Award Management (SAM.gov). I am now going to work on learning the different opportunities. Exciting

Tara, my counselor recommended starting to network in my area with those in the health care field that get government funding, I am going to start to reach out to people and learn about sho are the decision makers- I have the ability to ask if they will do a podcast with me. That will help me get around the gate keepers. For those that have never done sales and marketing before, it can be challenging. There are gate keepers that will not allow you to speak to the decision makers. I will tell you from experience, do not get discouraged, There are many ways to work around meeting people. I am going to look for opportunities like conferences, seminars and other networking events. I am also going to LInked in and making contact with the people I want to know me. It is persistence and consistency that wins. Remember, every "no" you get, is one step closer to a yes. IT is the law of probability.
Questions to ask when reviewing possible bid
Hi! Tara, I have started to review the list and will start to place a few bids. I cannot find the questions we should ask, and put in AI to help us understand the needs of the contract etc. Please help.

🚨 What Does a Government Bid Match Service Look Like?
One of the questions I often receive is: "What types of opportunities do you actually receive through a bid matching service?" Here's a real example from our Apex Accelerator Bid Match notification received today. In a single email, we received notification of 164 new opportunities and informational notices, including medical and healthcare-related solicitations from agencies such as: ✅ Department of Defense (DOD) ✅ Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Examples included: • Intraosseous Infusion Products• Medical Equipment Carts• Disposable Medical Applicators• Nasopharyngeal Airways Now, does this mean we bid on all 164 opportunities? Absolutely not. The key is learning how to review opportunities, determine whether they fit your business, understand the requirements, and decide whether to pursue them. This is why I always tell people that government contracting is not about bidding on everything. It's about identifying the opportunities that align with your products, services, certifications, and capacity. One of the biggest benefits of working with an Apex Accelerator is gaining access to tools and resources that help identify opportunities relevant to your business. 💬 Question for the group: When you hear "government contracting," what part seems most confusing? Finding opportunities? Reading solicitations? SAM registration? Submitting bids? Understanding requirements? Drop your questions below and let's talk about it!

Thanks Tara, I think one thing that I am learning is the terms , the keywords and the way to phrase things is important. That is going to be a learning curve for me. So I know it will be for others too. Sam.gov is the federal government registration system. The SC Apex the free counseling and support The SC and NC Vendor registration is for me to created a vendor profile,, get a code for the state and provide state procurement listings and bids. This was confusing at first. Writing it out helped me understand the different systems. That is the first step., understanding each system and what they do.
My Apex Counselors response to my one page capability and NAICS codes
I wanted to share the response from my counselor. I want yo to know that I use AI to help me. I was very pleased with the response. I did try to go into SAM. gov to change my codes , as per recommendation, but was unable to do so. It appears I must wait for some approval, before I can change the codes. On another note, I have a meeting scheduled with my counselor this week. And I am also doing the Introduction to the Mentor-Protege Program. I do get confused as to where I can find things in the system. I will encourage everyone to work with AI to help you. Diane, Thank you for sending this information to me. Can I just say I appreciate you for the organization you have demonstrated in this document - it is probably the best I have seen Here are my recommendations: - Capability Narrative: I recommend keeping the first two paragraphs and removing the last one as the information in the last one can be captured through key words. I do, however, recommend referring to your support of "government agencies" vice just "agencies" and "prime/subcontracting partners" versus just "subcontracting partners" to make sure you do not inadvertently exclude a key industry.  - Keywords: I have no additional key words to recommend but suggest the separation of current phrases into stand-alone words/smaller phrases as follows -  - NAICS Questions - Other Questions Please let me know if you would like to set up a session to review this information or if you have any other questions. I look forward to hearing from you and have a great rest of your day. Sarah DePeri SC APEX Manager
