The other week @Hansheng Lee and I watched a video about imaginary or "impossible" colors, and I haven't stopped thinking about it sense! For some reason I was totally unaware of the study of imaginary or "impossible" colors (colors that exist beyond our ability to see) The process of seeing requires, exhausting the cells in your cone receptors, tricking them into seeing these colors. It was amazing to see these unusual colors! It really opened my mind to how I think about and perceive color. Think about: • Hard vs soft edges • Emotional edges (tension, risk, restraint) • Physical edges (objects, silhouettes, borders) • The “edge” of your comfort zone You can push contrast… or let things blur.
