Want Your Painting Critiqued This Monday? (Plus Composition Help!)
Hey Artists 👋 Quick heads-up: this Monday at 8 AM Sydney time, I'm running a 2-hour painting critique session at the Art School. Here's how it works: Got a painting that's driving you crazy? Submit it, and I'll help you figure out what's working, what's not, and exactly how to fix it. Got photos or an idea for a painting, but not sure how to tackle it? Bring those too! We'll workshop the composition together and develop a solid game plan for painting it. This is one of my favourite sessions to run because you get real-time feedback on YOUR specific challenges - whether it's composition, values, colour mixing, or just figuring out where to start. After this critique session, we're back to our regular weekly live painting classes (with full replays), plus you'll get access to 60+ complete painting courses covering everything from clouds to trees to mastering values. If you've been thinking about joining the Art School, now's a great time. Jump in, submit your work, and let's get you some breakthroughs. https://www.skool.com/samuel-earp-online-art-school/about See you Monday! Sam

Dang! I missed out on so much. I’ve been sick since the evening after Christmas and the one day I thought I was completely over it I overdid everything and the next day it kicked me right in the arse. I’m finally over it I believe: I started feeling much better yesterday. I’ve taken things slowly the past two days for fear of overdoing again. I still can’t paint yet because the craft room still has the spare bed we borrowed from my daughter for our company we’ve had during the holidays. So when she’s able to pick it up with her husband then I can get back to work. I can’t wait. I’m dying to get back to painting and put to use some of the new things I’ve learned before I got sick. It feels like it’s been forever. I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and without any illnesses or injuries. I can’t wait to go check everyone’s work again. It’s fun to see everyone’s talents and progress. I’ve missed everyone and am looking forward to jumping back in full swing. Take care everyone. 🙌🏻🎨
Happy New Year, Painters! 🎨
Happy New Year! 🎉🥳 I'm starting 2026 the right way, out here in Australia, painting plein air at Mount White, overlooking the Hawkesbury River in New South Wales. This is YOUR year. 2026 is the year you finally: - Understand values and create depth in your paintings - Stop guessing and start following a system - Create professional-quality work you're proud to display or sell - Paint with confidence instead of doubt I've got a lot planned for 2026: new painting courses, including acrylic and gouache content, artwork I mainly paint in oils, and plenty of free tips coming your way. Make this the year you commit to your art. Happy painting! Sam P.S. Want structured training to make 2026 your breakthrough year? Check out Sam's Art School for weekly live classes, the "Improve Your Painting in 7 Days" course, and a complete framework: https://www.skool.com/samuel-earp-online-art-school/about

@Kris Kiona we’ve had an exceptionally warm winter here in Texas this year. Christmas Day was 80 degrees out and it’s been pretty warm for this time of year for the most part. February ( middle to end of January) is our coldest month. Then march we start warming back up and then May ( sometimes April even) it’s warm enough to open our pool back up. Wow! I actually never knew that about Poland. I’d have to have a picture or a light up sun ☀️ somewhere in my home to help avoid depression. Stay healthy and safe . Oh paint a pretty picture on a wall with the sun if you have the space and or allowed to do something like that. I’d spend my day as much as possible in that room if I could in the winter time especially. Your happy place ☺️
Amazing paintings
Wow! Everyone’s work looks amazing. Oh gosh. I’m a newly so mi e don’t look anything like everyone else’s work … yet lol. After I learn how to do some of these things I’ll be able to have good work.

That’s an awesome picture of mount Adams. I used to live in Washington State and would see that and mount Renier all the time.
