What About Mom Episode 9
I listened to episode 9 this morning on my way into work, and I just wanted to say it was so good! It covers the 5 essential functions of the pelvic floor - something which most of us here have learned about through the classes and videos here with Jessica and her team - but there was just SOMETHING about the way it was broken down and the way Jessica went through it that really reached a new level of understanding and intuitive comprehension. After listening I want to share it with all my friends who are moms, or may have had some sort of trauma that affected their PF - because it will serve as such a great public resource to educate the average person about what they may not even realize, and what they could have if they seek proper treatment. Again, just wanted to praise and hooray the podcast!

@Kristina Luby just coming here to commiserate because same. I have an OB that I adore and for the most part wish she just specialized in everything so I never had to see anyone else. And even with that being said, PF PT was not something that was ever really mentioned or brought up, until I went in for my annual this year at 20 mos, and brought it up myself. She immediately agreed and got me a referral, but why isn't this something explored and education provided prior to the lack of it pre and post partum. 😞

@Lindsey Walker hi Lindsey, I'm so sorry you had to experience that trauma twice. I remember after my tear and episiotomy (not sure if you healed naturally or assisted) but, I felt like it just was never right again. Felt really tight (but not in the way we all might hope for 🙃) Using the bathroom felt different, and I swear anytime I had a BM, I would tear again almost every time, for 18 months. It still happens now, but not quite as regularly. It might be one of the things that stresses me out the most, if I'm being honest. 😵‍💫 I had no idea you could "correct" that type of healing, but I'm so sorry it was so painful. Just wanted to share and commiserate from afar. ❤️
