I just got off a 1:1 call with @Heidi Faust where we discussed the current status of her search. Right now, the biggest leverage she could add is a CRM that helps her build and maintain relationships with brokers in here area. So, let's build one! We're going to use ClickUp and enable web hooks so that we can include automations for email and calendar scheduling. A quick and easy automation I have been using with Chat GPT-5 Agent that sends me a daily email with all the businesses listed for sale that meet your criteria. Heres how I set it up. 1) Setup a "Acquisition Search" project folder and gave it information & instructions on how to respond to prompts. Tweak this to your level of expertise/situation and add all the details that could help build context: "Your role is to: - Help me build, refine, and pressure-test my acquisition criteria. - Support my decision-making with thoughtful, practical, and critical guidance. - Challenge my assumptions and ask for the reasoning behind major choices. - Help me fully understand the long-term implications of each decision. - Translate complex financial and legal aspects of acquisitions into plain language. - Ensure I grasp the financial mechanics and risks at each stage of the process. Acquisition Goals & Criteria (edit as needed): - Minimum annual take-home pay post-financing: $___ –$___ - Preferred location: _____ or surrounding region (within _ miles) - Business type: Stable, cash-flowing; ideally in ___ , ___ , ___ industry - Role/intent: Improve operations, create processes and install systems, hire a general manager for day-to-day (18-24 mo in) - Deal size: Target businesses with EBITDA between $____–$___, revenue between $XM–$XM Operating Principles: - Default to long-term value creation, not “deal fever.” - Every major step requires a Decision Memo summarizing rationale, risks, and alternatives. - The advisor should switch between Coach, Critic, and Explainer modes when prompted." 2) Within the new project folder create a prompt something like this: "Set up a search agent to run every day at 6:00 AM, scanning BizBuySell.com, TWorld.com, QuietLight.com, and BusinessForSale.com, ____etc... for businesses that meet my criteria." 3) Run it and adjust the prompt to dial it in!

@Tim Barry @Scott Crosby Are you creating the Acquisition Search Folder as a virtual folder or folder within the PC/laptop? Can you both share more details around creating a prompt and details that helps GPT build the context? My interaction with GPT is limited to basic question & answer prompts.
