missed this earlier :) I am excited about taking an art course for 13 weeks. This is a course that basically helps us get out of our own way. These are a couple of my inspirational images I've included as part of my journaling prompts. Can't wait to see what I create with this dedicated block of time.

@Daina Debly I sure will, nothing too interesting to see yet as we start out with not trying to make paintings but rather just playing, exploring, and being curious. Hugs to you❤️
New Section - Good Reads
Hi All - After this morning's Study Group, it dawned on me that we didn't have an area where we can check out what we're reading and more importantly, what we recommend! So here it is - the Good Reads section - open for everyone! That said, I've just dropped a couple of my favourites - Atomic Habits and Becoming You (my current read as I write this). I'll be adding more, but in the meantime... Drop your favourites here, why you like the book (I'll use your recommendation) and I'll add them to the page. Good Reads Create Good Brains! Carole

Your Brain on Art - captures and shares the research behind the importance of different types of art. Many of us have already recognized these activities are great for us and now through their research wee can see "some of the why" (I say some because there is truly so much more than we know about too). Small time commitments to creative endeavours can be enough to enhance our wellness and potentially extend our life spans. In a time of such busyness it is helpful to find and embrace new ways of slowing down, new ways of engaging that can take us beyond tech.
Poll: Out-of-Left-Field Fun
Last week, I sent out a poll to better understand what you’d like to see in upcoming coaching calls. Some of you leaned into “Creative Brainstorming” with your vote. Let me expand a bit on what this type of call might look like. For starters, expect the unexpected. You might get a prompt like: "If my week were a sitcom episode, the title would be [blank], starring [blank]." You’ll have a few minutes to write or draw, then we share. I’ll set the stage, keep things moving, and make sure no one feels put on the spot - just lots of laughs, surprises, and fresh new perspectives. Are you game for this?

love this, unfortunately I am not sure I will be able to attend in person due to scheduling starting in September.

Yes please!!
Poll: Content Bites Around a Theme
One idea for our new coaching calls - Content Bites - invites you, our members to submit a snippet from content that’s had an impact on your life (book, video, article - anything). Example: One of my favourite pieces of advice comes from James Clear, where he encourages us to “create a system we can stick to, even on our worst day.” I would submit this, along with some conversation-starters like, “what does ‘worst day’ mean to you?”, and/or “where do you tend to over-complicate your systems?”. On the call, we review the snippet, then take a deep dive into the juicy bits of it - what problem it solves, what action we could take right away, what resistance comes up, etc. If yours is the content chosen to explore, you’ll be leading the call. I’ll be there to support you - collect questions, and field the tech side. ---------------------------------------------------------- That said, what content format is your go-to that you would likely submit for discussion?

hmmm - love this - would have to decide on what source more in the moment - what is speaking to me around the time of sharing. :)
Question: The 15-Minute Spotlight
Here’s what a Spotlight call would look like in our new coaching call format: One of our brilliant members takes the stage and in 15 minutes shares something in their zone of genius. Could be a tech hack, a money tip, a recipe that saves your sanity…anything! I’m on the call to facilitate, collect questions (and ask my share of ‘em), field the tech side - and make sure it’s fun and engaging for everyone. I also meet with you, as the speaker, beforehand to support you and set you up for success. So…. Who would you love to see in that spotlight? (Yes, it can be you.) Drop their name (or yours!) in the comments.
