Do you feel meh or bleh about talking money? Does it give you a stomach ache, a lump in the throat, or an elevated heart rate? Were you told it was rude, something we don't discuss, not proper? Do you have any memories of talking money with friends and family? The lack of talking about money is training our brain to be negative. If we don't speak of it, we can avoid it. If no one is talking about it, then it must be something shameful. If we only hear about it when the situation is bad, well then money talk is bad. But it doesn't need to be. See our confidence with money, it is tied to a cycle. See in psychology there is an idea that thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are like a triangle that feed into each other. I want to add talking too because what we say out loud too mirrors out thoughts and feelings. The more we practice talking about money the easier it gets. The easier it gets the less scary it feels. The mess scary it feels, the more positive the thoughts become. The more positive the thoughts, the more internal confidence we feel. The more confidence we feel the higher likelihood we change our behavior around money. So if you follow my logic. If you are tired of feeling stuck, ashamed, avoidant around money.
