Dr. Mel, I want to express my sincere appreciation for the opportunity to join the GovCon, Business and AI Skool community. My name is Deblin, and I’m a retired and disabled firefighter who responded to the 9/11 events. Since retiring, I’ve been committed to finding new ways to contribute to the workforce despite the challenges of my disability. Over the past several years, I’ve applied my knowledge, skills, and abilities across multiple industries, yet securing a stable position has been difficult. Age discrimination remains a real barrier, even in a country known as “the land of opportunities.” That’s why being welcomed into this community means so much to me. What you and your team are building offers genuine hope to individuals like myself who still have the drive, experience, and commitment to make an impact. I’m truly excited to learn, grow, and align my background with the opportunities available in the government contracting space. Above all, I’m focused on creating a stable future for my family and contributing meaningfully again. Thank you for opening the door to this path. I look forward to learning from you, engaging with the community, and eventually being able to support and mentor others who are facing similar challenges. I just relocated to Florida.
