More jumping with Ben
It’s interesting slowing the videos down and seeing what I am missing in my body position. I feel I need to stand up longer and be more patient in putting the front wheel down. One video shows me collapsing over the top. Some of my better jumps weren’t taped. They felt good. I know when I get tired I loose my good body position. These were on my e-bike which helped with speed and stamina. We got to do a lot if reps.

Psychological Creativity & Mental Reps AMP Racing | Mental Prep: Conditioning the Competitive Mindset “The mind is everything. What you think, you become.” – Buddha 🎯 Objective Develop riders who think differently, adapt faster, and gain competitive edges through mental training — not just physical reps. This module builds: - Creative problem-solving - Visualization mastery - Mental rehearsal discipline - Pattern recognition - Adaptive aggression PART 1: Why Creativity Wins in Downhill Downhill is not a memorization sport. It’s a problem-solving sport at 30–40 mph. Every track presents: - Line choices - Grip changes - Weather shifts - Traffic - Mistakes mid-run Rigid riders panic. Creative riders adapt. Teaching Point: Creativity under pressure = confidence + preparation. You don’t invent solutions on race day. You train flexibility beforehand. PART 2: Mental Reps (The Hidden Multiplier) “If you can see it in your mind, you can hold it in your hand.” – Arnold Schwarzenegger Mental rehearsal activates many of the same neural pathways as physical execution. Science Layer: Studies show visualization activates the motor cortex and improves skill acquisition even without physical movement. Elite performers in: - Ski racing - Gymnastics - MMA - Olympic shooting All use structured visualization. How to Teach Proper Visualization Most riders do it wrong. They: - Watch themselves like a movie. - Passively imagine. - Drift into daydreaming. Correct method: First-person perspective. Full sensory detail. Controlled pace. 5-Minute Visualization Protocol 1. Eyes closed. 2. Slow breathing. 3. Visualize drop-in. 4. Feel: - Grip under tires - Suspension compression - Brake modulation - Body position shifts - Rehearse mistakes and correct them. Not fantasy. Execution rehearsal. Assignment: 3x per week: 5-minute structured visualization. Log it. PART 3: Mistake Rehearsal Most riders fear mistakes. Elite riders rehearse recovering from them.

All by myself😱
Today was my day to ride the pump track. I went early at 7:15 so there wouldn’t be any kids. The first part had a few places to pump and the a little hill go up and ans keep going. I wasn’t pumping properly and had to pedal to get up the little hill. On top I stopped and promptly fell over into a hole bashing both knees. I then tried a different line for a while because I was gun shy about that little up. I did my walk get better pumping on some of the last bit I lost speed and had to pedal up the last part. It was another place to fall into a hole. The two tiny girls on scooters joined me. I rode several times on my line. But I was afraid of going too slow or too fast. But I did find out that looking around the corners helps a lot. Pictures of the pump track and the place of the crash with arrows.

More jumping.
Yesterday I did a mini jumping clinic with Ride Like a Ninja. It was very hot but I did well. I wish I had a video but they didn’t take one of me. I did well on the 4-5 foot gap and feel my landing is better but I need more height. That showed when the gap went to 8-9 feet and I was landing the back wheel on the middle box. 😢 Speed and compression although I felt speedy.

@Levi Weert I do have a pump track quire near me. I haven’t gone but needtogo early in the morning before the kids get there. I am embarrassed because I suck at pump tracks. I will make it a point to go on Thursday. I am going to another ninja jumping clinic this coming weekend. I will do you BMX sprint exercises.
