๐Ÿ’ง Longer Days, Thirstier Plants: Why Your Watering Needs Change Right Now
Have you noticed it yet? You waterโ€ฆ And two days later the soil feels dry again. Or maybe the oppositeโ€ฆ Youโ€™re still watering like itโ€™s Januaryโ€ฆ and suddenly things feel soggy. Welcome to early spring transition mode. As daylight increases, your plants shift even if theyโ€™re still indoors. And if we donโ€™t shift with them? Thatโ€™s when overwatering (or underwatering) sneaks in. Letโ€™s break it down. ๐ŸŒž ๐Œ๐จ๐ซ๐ž ๐‹๐ข๐ ๐ก๐ญ = ๐Œ๐จ๐ซ๐ž ๐†๐ซ๐จ๐ฐ๐ญ๐ก = ๐Œ๐จ๐ซ๐ž ๐–๐š๐ญ๐ž๐ซ ๐”๐ฌ๐ž As days get longer: * Photosynthesis increases * Leaf production speeds up * Roots become more active * Soil dries out faster Even if temperatures havenโ€™t dramatically changed, light alone triggers growth momentum. So if youโ€™re watering on a rigid โ€œevery 5 daysโ€ scheduleโ€ฆ Itโ€™s time to switch back to observing instead of scheduling. Plants donโ€™t own calendars. They respond to conditions. In January, growth is slower. In March? Things wake up. If you donโ€™t adjust, plants may dry out faster than expected, especially under grow lights. Dry stress right now can: * Stall growth * Cause leaf curl * Slow root development 2๏ธโƒฃ ๐Ž๐ฏ๐ž๐ซ๐ฐ๐š๐ญ๐ž๐ซ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐Ž๐ฎ๐ญ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐‡๐š๐›๐ข๐ญ Hereโ€™s the tricky one. Some gardeners think: โ€œMore growth means more water!โ€ But seedlings especially canโ€™t sit in soggy soil while adjusting to stronger light. Increased light speeds evaporation but cool nighttime temps can still keep soil damp below the surface. Thatโ€™s how root rot sneaks in. Instead of following a schedule, try this: โœ” Check soil moisture with your finger (1โ€“2 inches deep) โœ” Lift containers - lighter pots need water โœ” Water thoroughly, then allow proper drainage โœ” Avoid constantly โ€œtopping offโ€ small amounts daily Deep watering + proper drying cycle = stronger roots. This is a great time of year to use bottom watering if: * Seedlings are well established * You want to encourage deeper root growth * Youโ€™re trying to prevent fungus gnats

Depends on the plant, but my seedlings are drying out very fast.
What would you use?
I got this sweet little planter the opening is around 3.5 inches. What plant would make cute "hair"?

Air plants work great in those.
