At this moment my focus is my upcoming show. This is my trial setup for my colored clay table.

@Trey Foster thanks. The show was today again tomorrow. I decided that I wanted to get people to my website as well as selling at this small show.. I am doing a drawing for the item of choice. Today we all froze our butts off and did marginal sales but I also got over 30 on my mailing list. Hopefully this will help me grow visibility.
How do you sign your pots?
For the first time in 9 years I'm changing the stamp that I use for my "maker's mark" It feels a bit strange but I'm excited to have an official Clay with Trey stamp. The change got my wondering how you guys sign your pots? Is it your name or a symbol? Do you carve it or stamp it?

Indeed maker's mark stamp out of porcelain a couple months into my clay journey (10 months ago). I now also sign the bottom in black ceramic ink pen or underglaze marker. I still either stamp or sign my maker's mark (my initials).

I have a stamp with my maker's mark (my initials) but I sometimes carve instead and now am starting to sign bisqueware with my company name (Sharp Crafts PDX) in underglaze pen.
Luminaries (January 2026)
Our first community project is finally here! If you check out the classroom there are two brand new tutorials for making either a hand-built or wheel-thrown version. My hope is that you would run wild with this project and make it completely your own. This thread is for questions, comments, and brainstorming. Feel free to ask questions, answer questions, and post progress pictures. Have fun, be encouraging, and make something you love!

How often are you muddy?
Just curious, how often are you in your studio or workspace?

I'm muddy several hours every day. I put a studio on my apartment patio last spring. Spring and summer were fine but fall and winter (in Oregon) this year are unusually wet and the balcony above me leaks and rain wicks in on the rafters. It literally drips all over my studio. I now have a canopy on my patio and feel l uke I am working in a 35 giant degree damp box. My wheel and clay stash are in my tiny storage room. It's cramped but functional. I use a space heater in the wheel room. Since I continue to use my throwing water till it's too thick to use, I put it near the heater a bit better I go out to throw. No more sticking my hands in cold water! On a whole, the hardest element to deal with is water. Having no access to water in my studio it's lugging water or using a power washer with a pump but the hose is not long enough. That should be next project: buying a longer replacement hose so I can run warm water from my tub. Thanks for the question and letting my talk out a solution to a bug issue in my Studio.

First touched clay in January 2025, 5 years into retirement. The intended boredom buster quickly became a passion.
