Coat of arms Info. Any advice please.
Hi team, I thought we don't need permission to get a coat of arms. Hitting a brick wall here. Please see an email I have just received. Any truth in this? Good afternoon Jasyn, Many thanks for your enquiry. My colleague mentioned the College of Arms to your previously. To honour their tradition and authenticity, coat of arms for individuals and companies should be officially granted and designed/drawn by the London College of Arms (or Court of the Lord Lyon in Scotland). It is unlawful to adopt an unofficial coat of arms, as this can lead to legal issues if challenged. Therefore, at Downey we can only process coat of arms stationery officially drawn by the governing body. We would recommend you contact them on their official government website(s) should you wish to start an application: https://www.college-of-arms.gov.uk/ https://courtofthelordlyon.scot/ If you go down this route, and once granted and painted, please do send us the coat of arms, and we will gladly discuss how we use that design to create printed items such as stationery etc. Many thanks,
