Hi everyone, I'm David. My day job is attorney at law. In the evenings I pursue my passion for all things HIT and diet-related. Spent a lifetime in big box gyms without much of a plan, got into the kettlebell craze when it first landed in America 25 years ago, later bounced around some private trainers who always pushed me to hard and ended up injuring me (including one who got pretty famous slinging kettlebells and clubs), and finally ended up on the operating table at 46 with a hip resurfacing (it's basically a hip replacement for athletes and younger patients but it lasts a lifetime). Nothing like being sawed in half to make you realize you need to change your approach to health & fitness or end up in a wheelchair. My surgeon swore me off of PT saying he'd never met a PT who could beat the use of static training. So I spent 6 months doing nothing but self-directed static contraction training. I developed a fascination for all things static training. Which led me to Mike Mentzer, Ken Hutchins and Drew Baye. Made a full recovery using static training the way Drew and Ken teach it (90 second timed static contractions) which is basically HIT. Eventually migrated to dynamic exercise. Here I am fantasizing about retiring from law and opening a HIT studio.
