Welcome! Content creation is a powerful path when you stay consistent and keep improving over time. Every strong creator starts as an aspiring one. Focus on creating, learning your audience, and refining your voice as you go. What type of content are you most excited to create right now?
Newsletters
Those who own newsletter how do you get people to sign up

@Charlene Mitchell ,I really appreciate that, Charlene. You’re exactly right inboxes are already crowded, so there has to be a clear reason for someone to want your emails specifically. For me it comes down to making sure there’s a clear value exchange, whether that’s unique insights, practical tips, or perspectives they can’t easily get elsewhere. Out of curiosity, what kind of angle or value do you think makes a newsletter stand out the most today?

@Charlene Mitchell ,That’s a great insight, Charlene. Once you’re genuinely present in the same spaces as your audience, growth tends to happen much more naturally. It shifts from trying to attract people to simply being visible where the right conversations are already happening. And focusing on churn at that stage makes a lot of sense retention is really where the long-term value of a newsletter comes from. Curious what have you found helps the most in keeping subscribers engaged and reducing churn?
Video Setup
Hello Omar and the Video Dept. community! Pretty pumped to be able to meet you at the Awaken Summit last week! I've been following your content and listening to your podcasts for a while. Just wanted to see if anyone had recommendations on video set up for my studio. I'd like to start making content, either talking head, informative, or reaction videos. I have Sony FX30 with a Sigma lens. I have a Shure SM7DB with an XLR directly into the Sony FX30 and a USB-C cable connected to my MacBook Pro. Does anyone know the best flow for capturing, editing, and publishing content on social media? I know Think Media and Omar have promoted StreamYard in the past. I thought of subscribing to StreamYard (any affiliate links or discount codes?), capturing my video, saving it in Dropbox, and then editing it on CapCut. Could anyone chime in and let me know if that is an efficient way to do things or suggest a better way? Thanks in advance!!

That’s a really solid setup already FX30, Sigma and the SM7DB puts you well ahead of most people starting out. I’d personally keep the flow as simple as possible: record locally for max quality (either straight to the camera or into the Mac), then do one clean edit and repurpose from there. Stream Yard’s great if you’re going live or doing interviews, but for talkinghead, informative or reaction content it can sometimes add an extra step you don’t really need. A lot of creators I’ve seen do well start with long form (YouTube), then clip it down in CapCut for shorts across socials. It keeps things consistent and saves time. Out of interest, are you planning to prioritise YouTube first or short-form platforms to start with?

@Jesse Houk Good question If you’re recording directly to your computer, it really depends on what you’re doing but you can’t go too wrong with OBS Studio if it’s screen + audio. It’s free and solid once you’ve set it up properly. If it’s more music-focused, something like FL Studio, Ableton Live, or even Logic Pro (if you’re on Mac) gives you a lot more control over sound quality. What exactly are you recording vocals, screen tutorials, beats, or something else?

This hits. I’ve found that being on your A game is less about intensity and more about consistency. What helps you stay locked in when motivation dips?
Awareness Recovery
I am an author and educator. I look forward to offering classes through Skool this Spring. My subject and book title is Awareness Recovery. Awareness is knowing. People need knowledge more than belief.

That’s an interesting way to frame it , awareness as knowing rather than believing really stands out. When you say Awareness Recovery, is the focus more on unlearning old patterns or building new understanding from the ground up? Would love to hear how you’re planning to approach it in your classes.
