Has anyone else tried the Tecovas standard issue henley? It's a short sleeve, and medium to heavy weight, but made from Supima cotton. It feels almost liquid when you put it on its so soft. And it's cheap for being made so well. I was going to post the link to it, but don't know if thats acceptable. Especially for my first post.

Ive already asked Collars and Co, and they don't make what im looking for. Has anyone seen or know of anyone who makes a cotton polo (preferably supima) with a dress shirt type collar? Collars and co has performance fabric polos, and I cant stand the way that stuff looks.

So I was infront of my office building smoking my pipe when four young men, between 20-35 approached me and complimenting me on my suit. And the interesting thing was they all wanted to change and dress better but each had their reason for not. One was because the clothes he had was a little big because of weight loss, another was the opposite because he had gained a a few pounds and was trying to loose it. A third was because he was not sure about how to match and he had a couple of suits and shirts but did not know to make it so they were not the same all the time. The last was because he felt he could not afford buy new clothes. Now here is the thing, all of these gentlemen said they had been watch different things on the internet basically YouTube, that had them feeling like they had to have the right size, right, length, certain materials, and certain styles, and mainly name brand clothing. Gentlemen we have to do better, we are over emphasizing way to much on certain styles, tailored clothing, that men are made to feel that if it’s not the exact size, the exact length, exact material, or matching to someone’s standard then they will be made fun of or judge. Now I know some will disagree with what I told them and that is fine, it’s your opinion. I told these men, “ wear what you have, what you can afford , and what makes you feel that you leveled up.” “Because whatever you wear will make you 10x better looking then most of the men that are walking around. I told them that if your jacket is a little long so be it wear it and when you can afford take it to a tailor, your shirts are a little tight, but you are working on your weight, wear a suit jacket or a vest if it makes you feel better, put on a tie that will help cover the buttons. If you only have a couple of suits, you can mix jackets with other pants and vice versus . And I told them they can go to Places like Good Will and find great deals on suits , shirts, and even some shoe. If you have to get your shirts from Walmart it’s okay, whatever you wear it will be 10x better than what most men are wearing nowadays.

While browsing the Allen Edmonds website in search of a reasonably priced pair of brown suede loafers, I stumbled across these Randolph Verse Penny Loafers sitting quietly in the sale section. My first thought was, Well, that’s different. I’ve never owned a two-tone loafer, and the question immediately presented itself: am I stylish enough to pull these off, or am I about to become the cautionary tale at the next dinner party? Unsure of my own judgment, I did what any self-respecting gentleman in the age of artificial intelligence would do—I consulted AI and asked it to build a few outfits around them with clothes I already own. To my surprise, the silicon stylist delivered a compelling case. Before common sense had a chance to intervene, the order was placed. The shoes are now en route. Whether this turns out to be a masterstroke of sartorial courage or a valuable learning experience remains to be seen. Stay tuned.

Today I received my first new casual shoes in a while. I have been working with a style consultant including planning for what to take on my Mediterranean trip in a month. He noted a lack of good walking shoes in brown and recommended these Myrqvist (Swedish brand) Brännö II – Sand Suede shoes. They are super comfortable and seem ideal for walking tours, wearable with slacks or shorts. And I see the ripples in the vamps. Another box of shoe trees arrives overnight!
