Are shots required in jiujitsu??
so I have been thinking about is shooting necessary for standup in jiujitsu? And my opinion is if you just want to be good and take people down in jiujitsu I don't think you HAVE to shoot. you could be good at ducks, arm drags, under hook, overtook, judo. I have just noticed from me personally I don't shoot that much in jiujitsu because of all the dangers of it. But if I am with someone very good I do feel like a shot is necessary if all my other stuff is getting shut down. What do y'all think? let me know below!

Totally agree. There are a lot of safer options then shooting or trying to do firmans throw buttttttt they are hella fun so yeah will probably keep working on them.
Trouble shooting list
I’ve been thinking about a simple way to level up your game, and it starts with paying attention to where you’re actually getting beat. Every time you get taken down, thrown, or caught in a specific move, make a note of it, either in your head or on paper. Look for the position or technique that hits you the most and start there. Instead of avoiding it, put yourself in that exact position during training and drill it until you understand what’s going wrong and how to fix it. Once that position stops being a problem, move down the list to the next one. Over time, you’re not just training harder, you’re training smarter, systematically removing holes from your game instead of randomly adding moves, and that’s how real progress actually happens.

I’m killing it now with the overtie ankle pick but my overtie snap down still sucks. I’ll have to keep troubleshooting it

I just watched the overtie system you put out so I’m going to keep messing with that in the gym and try building off of it. I never play overtie so it should be interesting 🤘🏻

@Andreus Bond gave it a go today at open mat and I had a question. I’m taller guy with a long neck I tried to snap down using the over tie but I need bend my back a lot. Is it just about getting more reps in or is snapping down from overtie not ideal for taller guys going against shorter wrestlers?
