@Jonathan Schwarzhaupt I too use nvim, I find it very fast, and easy to install and use on most machines. Also it's useful to know for when a server I use has vim installed. I try to use the default keys for this reason too.

Why I left a nursing career for tech
I was making $40K as a nurse, barely getting by. Today I'm a 6-figure DevOps engineer. But this isn't about money. It's about finding work that lights you up. I discovered tech through necessity. Started tinkering with an old laptop. Found joy in solving problems. Building things from scratch. The journey wasn't easy: • Learning after long nursing shifts • Doubting myself constantly • Facing rejection after rejection • Starting over in my 30s But every Linux command mastered... Every container deployed... Every cloud certification earned... Built confidence. Today I help others make this transition. Run a community of exceptional engineers. Watch careers transform. Lives change. The secret? It's not about being the smartest. It's about being the most persistent. You're never too old to start. Never too inexperienced to learn. Never too far gone to change. The best time to start was yesterday. The second best time is now.

I've been on a similar journey for the last 18 months. Glad to have found this community and looking forward to the challenges and rewards.
Homelab redesign started!
Thanks for Mischa’s Youtube videos and really inspiring community! I found his note making videos really structured and it helped me get to the next stage of my all-time ongoing experimentation with note taking systems. I followed many systems and invented my own ones. But with these videos it started to finally click! Good note making leads to structuring my own thoughts and goals, so I decided to rebuild my entire homelab. Before it was several machines and a server for couple of VMs. No K8N, it was VMWare ESXi for several VMs on server, Synology NAS for storage and git repositories, and Protectli box for firewall (pfSense) and log analysis. Now I am ready to do additional cabling inside the house walls, to install more sockets and finally to re-segment my network to several non-connected subnets with couple of added managed switches for VLANs. And in my basement I collected 12 computers (HP and Dell) waiting to be driven by K8N! I am not sure if this post will stay or also be deleted (as my previous one about excitement for installing Arch (which I did finally, following the official guide, and then watching Mischa’s walkthrough just for reference how he did it)). Even if this will be deleted, I decided to document my journey on my own blog - which I will start in a couple of weeks, after remodeling the current working room (part of which also serves as electronic music studio with it’s own intricate cabling) and my server setup in basement.
